FINALS From page jB Coach Eubanks acknowl edged that the point totals could have been much high er if not for so many misses in the first half. In fact, Westfield was sitting with three points in the board but maybe five or six times as many second-chance shots that didn’t go in. Pfohl aggressively went to the basket for a first quarter three-point play, but afterwards there were three half-court turnovers in a row. Jones did have a block on the perimeter, but the Lady Trojans, with a second shot score, was up 9-8 after one period. The Tattnall Square run stretched to nine points in a row before Rust put back a missed foul shot. Rust later scored on a Pfohl pass inside, and Jones cashed in a Eubanks pass on the break (15-13 Westfield). Pfohl gave her team two more on the offensive boards. Westfield was 9- for-15 at the foul line, but had to battle just to stay ahead going into the half time break. Tattnall Square in fact beat the buzzer to cut the Lady Hornet lead to one, 23-22. Even with .Way’s injury on Westfield’s offensive end, the visitors ended the quar ter on a 6-0 run to lead JO SS with eight minutes left. The Lady Trojans answered a Eubanks 3- pointer with a stick-back to stay within two at 45-43. Both teams even exchanged successful three-point plays, but Tattnall Square had the second one and used that momentum to steal the lead back at 50-49 with 2:59 to go- Rust had a steal that got the basketball to Jones for a tying foul shot, but Tattnall knocked down to in a row for 52-50 at 1:06. Hiley was on the line to tie the game with 58.6 remaining, but Westfield lost two great chances on a Moreland steal and jump ball in their favor. Despite all that, and a Tattnall lead of 54-52 with 32.2 seconds showing, Moreland drew the foul splitting a double team and sent the game into over- Aged Hand-cut Steaks <g*H»tlert>T m iU* ts? -9971 Why Welgflit? mjL ’s no better way to get fit and reduce stress. • 24 hour Access • Personal Training • 110 Contracts 1030 Ball Street (Downtown Perry) 987-8516 m.
