D., one of the National Superintendents, spent two or three w’eeks in Atlanta in January, helping to complete the State Organization, and starting Dr. Solomon out in an effort to get Georgia to fall into line with Forty-five other States which have adopt ed this method of dealing with the License Saloon. The State Board is very much gratified with the splendid Cooperation, fair support given, and pledges of service tendered by so many of the good people of Georgia. The headquarters of the State League are at 602 Lowndes Building, where information touching the work can be secured at any time. EXCHANGES. The Watchman, Milner, Ga. If your pastor does not work and preach exactly to your mind, suppose you try doing more for him, then you may discover the cause. If you wish to make a sorry preacher out of a good one, just let him know you care very little for him, let him be pobrly paid, and poorly prayed for, then the work is done, and the devil will be pleased. Christian Observer, Louisville, Ky. In Christian work it is seldom the man or woman of leisure who does the larger share of actual work. As a rule those who are busy with the duties and responsibilities of this life are the ones who are ready to do the most for the kingdom. The busy man plans his work, and finds time to devote to the church. Some of the busiest men and women we have ever known are most busy in the work of Sabbath school and church. The idle or lazy man lacks energy and purpose in life, and hence does not count for much in the service of the kingdom. Baptist Press, Greenwood, S. C. Now, if temporary prohibition is a good thing for San Francisco, why would not permanent prohibition be better? And if anti-prohibitionists in Green ville are convinced by the actual operation of a prohibitory law, why would not others of similar views be won over by the operation of a similar law in other local territory? For our part, we believe in the effectiveness of a prohibititory liquor law, though it is to be expected that such a statute w’ould be violated by evil minded men, just as other prohibitory laws are broken.
