THE OLD IN RABUN.
THE NEW.
“his own,” and “make two grass blades grow”
where one had grown in his boyhood.
The story of his efforts to establish this work,
his sowing of the seeds of interest and impetus in
the minds and hearts of young and old (the latter
a far more difficult task), and his final emergence
into the light with hundreds of boys and girls,
awakened and inspired, following him toward the
heights of knowledge and victory—all this story
would read like a romance if it were written and
given to the world.

The industrial features of this school were “a
new thing under the sun” to those good mountain
folk, and the general influence of Ritchie’s faithful
work has been felt all over Rabun county, and even
beyond, and the old and new houses of the Wolf
Fork school give fine evidence of this awakening.
An unmistakable evidence of the genuineness of
this educational awakening has been shown, first, by
the adoption of the constitutional amendment pro
posed by the McMichael Bill, which grants every
community the privilege of voting to tax themselves
above the general school fund. And all over the
state, rural districts are falling into line —thus
lengthening their terms and otherwise increasing
the working worth of their schools.

Eleven Agricultural Schools.
And now all Georgia is almost agog over the
legislative establishment of an agricultural school
in each congressional district. And they do say
that the Connor Bill shall mean something—that
these district schools, each with several hundred
acres of land, are going to be real agricultural
schools with all that the term implies.
There will be just enough “head learning” to
give the highest possible efficiency to the practi

An Ideal Investment —Real Esta’e Bonds Paying
From Nine to Twelve Per Cent.
If your money is improperly invested or not in
vested at all you should write Cook & Company,
Investment Bankers or Fitzgerald, Georgia, about
their Ten Year Guarantee Six Per Cent Profit-Shar
ing Bonds. These bonds bear six per cent in the
profits of the Company. For those who wish to in
vest five hundred or several thousand dollars for a
regular income it would be hard to find a more de
sirable ’form of investment. Tlie bonds combine
profit with absolute safety. They are secured by
investments in improved real estate and all taxes
are paid by the Company. You can use them as
cash at any time in buying real estate. There is a
demand in Fitzgerald for several hundred homes
and the Company is building homes and investing
in improved real estate. Write for further par
ticulars, stating the amount you wish to invest.
