ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS
FOR ONE CENT
It will cost you just one cent to
write for your copy of the beautifully
illustrated catalog of The Golden Age
Piano Club, which will explain to your
thorough satisfaction how the club of
one hundred buyers saves its members
more than one hundred dollars each.
You cannot afford to buy a piano until
you have read the Club catalog, for
you cannot afford to throw away the
opportunity it offers you.
As an individual buyer, purchasing
at random, you are weak, but as a
member of the club, you have the
strength of an army of one hundred.
And the Club makes the payments
easy and perfectly safe for you. Write
for your copy of the beautiful new
catalog today. Address Ludden &
Bates, Golden Age Piano Club Dept.,
Atlanta, Ga.
soon she turned and went s and separ
ated the calves and brought ours
home.
Once when I was riding very fast
after a cow, the girt broke and I fell
directly under her, but she stopped
instantly and if she had stepped one
step more, I would have been killed.
She was also very affectionate and
would often stop in the gate for us to
pet her, before she went in to the
pasture.
I used to play hide and seek with
her by hiding behind things and call
ing her, and she would look so smart
sticking her head behind things, and
she would continue to hunt until she
found me. And all these things she
did- without any training.

do you know that the love of a dog
even should arouse a kindred feeling
in the coldest hearts? Dan was a
friend as well as a servant to me.
He was ever near my side. In fact he
was almost human. He could not talk
’tis true; but somehow, it seems to
me that a mistake was made and Dan
was given the feeling of a man and
a good man, too.
Dan was a great fighter, but never
did he fight except to defend his own
inalienable rights or to shield the
weak. His was not a cross and snarl
ing nature.
The little ehildren could ride his
back; and he always took care that
no harm should befall them; he was
a friend to all. All the smaller dogs
of the village loved him, and all the
larger ones respected his prowess.
Uncommon as it is in the best of dog
characters, he was always willing to
share his best bone.
I know it is useless to weep over
him, but he was my best comrade. He
is buried in the garden and his grave
is besprinkled with flowers. On the
simple tombstone you may read this
little inscription:
He has gone to a land where no storm
clouds arise;
His spirit has drifted ’way up in the
skies.
