THE MELODIGRAND PIANO.
From Cleveland Manning Warerooms in Taft Hall.
The meeting of the Southern Christian Citi
zenship Congress in Atlanta this week, while
notable in its present interest
Your Kind
Must Save
The Nation.
To bring the Christian citizen face to face
with his duty to his community, his country,
and the world, is always a wholesome con
templation, and therefore, a mighty challenge
likewise to any patriotic rpeaker before an
audience.
But this Christian Citizenship Congress
means more than this—it means a trumpet
call to leaders in every community in the
South—why not the Nation?—to organize the
thinking element of that community in a pro
ductive, inspiring organization—a cradle and
a nursery, if you will, for Christian Patriotism!
Christian Citizenship Congress, Welcome !
and vital program, means more,
we believe, than the ringing
messages of the hour.
THE GOLDEN AGE FOR WEEK OF SEPT. 18
PROGRAM AND SONGS FOR SOUTHERF
The federation —and thereby the abiding
and increasing stimulation of all local, civic
and patriotic organizations in such away as
to keep the fires of unselfish patriotism and
Christian duty to our government burning on
the altar of every community and every heart
—this is the vision, this the purpose of the
builders of this Christian Citizenship Congress
held under the guardianship of the Civic
League of America.
Surely, next to the work of soul-winning
itself, no ethical teacher ever cherished a fairer
vision—no patriot ever wrought out a more
practical, far-reaching purpose. And the
need —0, ye patriots, the need cries to Heaven!
Members of the Christian Citizenship Congress,
as the organ of the Civic League of America,
The Golden Age holds out to you the hand
of comradeship!

NEXT TO THE BIBLE”
I read every issue of The Golden
Age ‘clean trhough’, as one of your
readers has expressed it, and I
consider it next to the Bible. 'lt
ought to be read in every family;
and for one to read one copy of the
paper, means to want to read the
next. As to the club piano you adver
tise, when it comes to durability and
sweetness of tone, it is undoubtedly
the best piano ever offered at the
price.
Yours for The Golden Age,
C. D. VAUGHAN.

SHE LOST IT.
Mistress (hurrying frantically)—
Mary, what time is it now?
Maid —'Half-past two.
Mistress —Oh, I thought it was
later! I still have twenty minuses
to catch the steamer.
Maid —Yes, mum. I knew you’d be
rushed, so I set the clock back 20
minutes to give you more time.
