The second lesson is this: The ev
ils of the world can never be overcome
by human means. “For though we
walk in the flesh we war not after
the flesh.” “For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal but mighty
through God to the pulling down of
strongholds.” “And having a readiness
to revenge all disobedience when your
obedience is fulfilled.” I am going
to give you a more literal translation
of that —“For though in the flesh, we
walk not according to the flesh. Not
according to the flesh are we warring.
For the weapons of our warfare are not
fleshly, but created in God to the com
plete overthrow of strongholds. Over
throwing perverse reasonings and
every towering head that lifteth it
self against the knowledge of God, sub
jecting every human notion to the
obedience of Christ, and be prepared
to avenge all disobedience when your
obedience is made complete.’ It is
exactly what was said without any
fixing up of the translators. Now I
say again, we can not conquer in the
battle of right against wrong by re
lying upon human implements. Now,
my brethren, if that statement is true,
and if it is not true all this experi
ence of Joshua, and all this teaching
of the Apstle Paul in the Corinthian
letter might as well be turned out of
the Bible, can’t you see that the
church today is wasting about two
thirds of its energy endeavoring to
conquer in the battle of right against
wrong, of injustice upon justice, by
relying upon human efforts, rather
than falling down as Joshua did be
fore the Captain of the Hosts of God,
and getting from Him the programme
for the fight?
Now, some of you laughed a while
ago, thinking I was on your side of a
great political question. I am going
to get the other side now. I am de

asking at any drug for “Wy

this old-time recipe, ready to use,
for about 50 cents. This simple mix

itchy scalp and falling hair.
A well-known down-town drug
gist says everybody uses Wyeth’s Sage

naturally and evenly that nobody can
tell it has been applied—it’s so easy
to use, too. You simply dampen a
comb or soft brush and draw it
through your hair, taking one strand
at a time. By morning ithe gray
hair disappears; after another appli
cation or two, it is restored to its
natural color and looks glossy, soft
and abundant.

Home Rule for Ireland, under the pres

most serious menace that could come

priest-craft reigns. That is my posi

on disapproving the methods that the

adopted for the defeat of that measure.

dandruff. This destructive scurf robs
the hair of its lustre, its strength and
its very life, and if not overcome it
produces a feverishness and itching of
