H, BUCKLEY & CO.’S
GREAT
NATIONAL CIRCUS
WILL Exhibit at Lumpkin on Thursday, Sep-
T T tember 1st, 1859, Afterneon and Night; open
at 2 and 7 o’clock. Newly equipped and greatly
augmented for the year 1859, it is confidently be
lieved will be found to present a combination of
novel and attractive features which will more than
sustain the high reputation which they have at
tained by their representations in former years.
Now, as heretofore, the Manager will endeavor to
deserve success by giving the public a full equivo-
lent for their money, and performing even more
than they promise—thinking a well deserved pop
ularity honestly gained bv fair proceedings much
more desirable in the end than any mere tempora
ry advantage which might be obtained by resort
to clap-trap and humbug. In short, having re
ceived the appelation of the
MODEL CIRCUS OF AMERICA,
They are resolved to maintain it by giving perfor
mances which it shall be impossible to excel.

MASSEY’S IEOH SCREW.
I HAVE purchased of Mr. Jus. Massey, the in
ventor and patentee, the exclusive right to
build his celebrated Iron Screw in Stewart. Ran
dolph. and Marion counties. The posts as well as
the Screw is of wrought iron, and requires but lit
tle room for its erection. It may be either put up
in a tall lint room or a separate room as desired.
They will be put up on reasonable terms and guar
anteed to give satisfaction. My address is Hanna-
hachie, Stewart co.. Ga.
BEN J AMIN CLEVELAND.
REFERENCE.
Stewart Co., Ga., April 24th, 1859.
I certify that I have one of Mr. Massey’s Iron
Screws now in use, and pronounce it the best screw
of which I have any knowledge. With one fellow
and three boys I have ginned and packed two
bales of cotton per dav, averting 560 pounds
each. ' JOHN M. CAIN.
Columiuj.s, Ga.. Muscogee county.
Mr. B. Cleveland : This is to certify that I have
used one of Massey's Screws at the Warehouse of
Messrs. Dillard, Powell & Co., of this city, and
that I regard it as one of the most easily operated
and durable Screws within my knowledge. With
six good hands it is capable of turning of forty
bales of cotton per day, of an average weight of
five hundred and fifty pounds, and that of conve
nient size and shape.
Yours, respectfully, JAS. T. GRAY,
We have now orders from planters at our Ma
chine shop for eighteen of Massey’s Portable
Wrought Iron Cotton Press, and expect, from the.
reputation that this Press lias acquired, to manu
facture this season for the planters in our immedi
ate neighborhood ■ many more. The durability,
convenience, and cheapness of this Press recom
mends itself. HALL, MOSES & CO.,
