Fort Yargo State Park has been a part of local history for more than two centuries and is situated on land that was formed on the border between the
Creek and Cherokee nations. Currently, the park hosts thousands of visitors a year who take part in camping, hiking, fishing, boating and swimming. Fort
Yargo State Park also hosts several youth camps each summer geared toward children with various needs. It is a major attraction throughout the year,
