Winder Police Department incidents
Missing items reported after gold car in area
The following incidents were
recently reported to the Winder
Police Department:
•theft at a Savannah Street resi
dence, where a man reported numer
ous items missing from a vacant
house next door to his residence. The
complainant said as he was mowing
grass he saw a gold car parked in the
carport of the vacant house and when
the driver saw him the car backed out
and left the area. The complainant
said he started looking around after
this happened and discovered the
items missing.
•outstanding warrant at an East
New Street location, after a traffic
stop was initiated on the driver of a
2008 Nissan Xterra that had stopped
in the roadway. The female inside
was distraught and crying and stated
she had been beaten up by her boy
friend. She said her boyfriend had
been in the vehicle with her, but he
had gotten out and started walking
to an apartment in Smith Heights.
Officers were able to apprehend the
boyfriend, who had an outstanding
warrant.
•driving while driver's license is
suspended or revoked at an East
Athens Street traffic stop, where the
driver of a 2005 Mazda was stopped
because the passenger side head
light, passenger side taillight and tag
lights were not working.
•simple battery - Family Violence
Act (FVA) at an Ashwood Court
residence, where a domestic dispute
between a mother and daughter was
reported.
•no insurance, expired license
plate and knowingly driving a motor
vehicle on a suspended, cancelled
or revoked registration at Holly Hill
Mall on West Athens Street, where
a traffic stop was conducted on the
driver of a 1993 GMC Jimmy.
•brake lights requirements vio
lation and driving while driver's
license is suspended or revoked on
East Wright Street, where the driver
of a 1998 Ford Explorer was stopped
for not having working brake lights.
•public drunkenness, failure to
obey stop sign or yield after stop
ping, driving without a valid driver’s
license, driving without a driver’s
license on person, driving under the
influence (DUI) of alcohol, reckless
driving and failure to exercise due
care when using a cell phone/radio,
where a traffic stop was initiated on
the driver of a 2001 Lincoln LS that
ran a stop sign.
•driving without a valid driver's
license and headlight requirements
violation at a traffic stop on West
May Street.
•theft by shoplifting at Walgreens
on East May Street, where a man had
reportedly concealed an item in his
pants, walked out the front door, got
on a bicycle and left.
•criminal trespass at Carmike Cin
emas on Exchange Boulevard, where
a man reported someone had painted
the word “bi&#h” in one of the park
ing spaces in front of the theater.
•private property accident at Vic
tor Lord Park on 2nd Street, where
a man reported striking a cement
planter with his 2016 Dodge truck.
•theft by taking at Waffle House on
West May Street, where an employee
reported the theft of her iPhone 6 S.
•DUI - alcohol at an East Ath
ens Street location, where a suspi
cious vehicle was reported. Officers
reported they found a 2008 Infiniti
parked on the side of East Athens
Street with the driver’s door open
and the driver asleep.
•fraud at Sonic on South Center
Street, where someone had tried to
pay for their meal with a "fake” $10
bill.
•criminal trespass at a Windsor
Drive residence, where a woman
reported a hole in her front window
next to the door of her residence.
•pick up prisoner located at the
Jackson County Jail on Curtis H.
Spence Drive, Jefferson.
•pick up prisoner located at the
Hall County Jail on Barber Road,
Gainesville.
•open container violation and lit
tering on highway at a Lily Drive
location, where a 2005 Kia Sportage
matching the description of a vehicle
involved in an earlier hit and run,
was located.
•hit and run; duty of the driver to
stop at or return to the scene of an
accident at the Citgo gas station on
South Broad Street, where the driver
of a 2005 Dodge Caravan report
ed striking a 2005 Kia Sportage.
The van driver said the other driver
stopped, cursed at him and then fled
the scene.
•possession of marijuana and
possession and use of drug-related
objects at Rose Hill Cemetery on
West Candler Street, where two sus
picious vehicles were found parked
in the back area of the cemetery near
the tree line.
•hit and run; duty upon striking
unattended vehicle at Regions Bank
on North Broad Street, where a man
reported someone hit his 1007 Chev
rolet Trailblazer, causing moderate
damage to the front driver’s side,
while it was parked in the parking
lot.
•DUI - alcohol, reckless driv
ing and striking a fixed object on
Williams Street, where the driver
of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado had
reportedly struck a curb and run into
a ditch.
•aggravated assault at an East New
Street location, where a man report
ed the driver of a 2004 Volvo had
attempted to hit him as he was walk
ing on the sidewalk.
•outstanding warrant arrest at a
Pine Creek Apartment, Apperson
Drive, residence.
•theft by taking a motor vehicle at
Publix on Monroe Highway, where
a man reported the theft of his 2013
Hyundai Azera.
•outstanding arrest warrant indi
vidual picked up at the East Point
Police Department, East Point Street,
East Point.
•DUI - alcohol and improper lane
change/failure to maintain lane at
a Mimosa Street traffic stop, where
the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Blaz
er was stopped for failure to use a
signal when turning and crossing
the double yellow line of a divided
highway.
•criminal trespass at an Alexander
Court residence, where a domestic
dispute was reported between two
brothers.
•terroristic threats and acts at a
Pine Creek Apartments, Apperson
Drive, residence, where a dispute
between neighbors was reported. A
female stated her neighbor, who is
also her husband’s cousin, had put a
threatening note on her outside door
and had also sent threatening text
messages.
•theft by taking at an Oak Hill
Drive residence, where a woman
reported the theft of an Xbox 360,
Xbox games, cord and controllers,
Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii control
lers and a phone charger.
•theft by conversion and theft by
deception at Rent-A-Center on East
May Street, where an employee
reported receiving a phone call from
a man stating he might have pawned
a tablet computer that he didn’t know
was Rent-A-Center property. The
man said he pawned the item for a
female that had deceived him.
•forgery at Sonic on South Center
Street, where a female attempted to
pay for food with a "fake” $20 bill.
•investigation at Circle K on West
May Street, where a female reported
that a male was "indirectly” threat
ening her via his Facebook account.
•private property accident at D’Car
Lot on East May Street, where the
driver of a 2005 Ford truck reported
striking a pole, causing damage to
the front of the truck.
•public drunkenness at the Shell
gas station on East Midland Avenue,
where a man was trying to pay for a
beer with 25 cents and was refusing
to leave the store.
•burglary at a Langford Street res
idence, where a woman reported
water damage to the floor and base
ment area of the rental property.
•criminal damage to property at a
Sunningdale Drive residence, where
a woman reported damage to her
mailbox caused by her “mail lady.”
•forgery at McDonalds on North
Broad Street, where an employee
reported a man who purchased food
at the drive through, received his
change and then came inside the
restaurant demanding another $20
bill to replace a ripped $20 bill that
he had received back in his change.
The complainant stated she advised
the man that the restaurant cashiers
"would never give out money that
was so damaged” and she offered to
call the police to resolve the matter.
She said the man immediately left
the store and after the man left the
bill was identified as a "fake.”
•forgery, theft by conversion and
willful obstruction of law enforce
ment officers at a North Broad Street
location, where a man wanted to ver
ify the Vehicle Identification Num
ber (VIN) on a 2006 Ford Freestyle
he was about to purchase.
•no insurance at Nationwide Insur
ance on West Athens Street, where a
traffic stop was initiated on the driver
of a Buick Century with no tag.
•simple battery at an East Wright
Street residence, where a man report
ed being hit in the face by another
male.
•theft by conversion at iPawn on
East May Street, where a man had
reportedly pawned some lawn equip
ment that was reported stolen from
the City of Pendergrass.
•forgery and theft by deception
at Community and Southern Bank
on West Broad Street, where a man
reported his deceased father’s bank
account had been closed by a male
he didn't know.
•theft by taking at Save-A-Lot
on West Athens Street, where an
employee reported the theft of $100
from the safe.
•theft by deception at Cash Amer
ica Pawn on South Broad Street,
where a man had reportedly pawned
some lawn equipment that was
reported stolen from the City of
Pendergrass.
•intoxicated person at Waffle
House on West May Street, where
a man was found face-down, uncon
scious on a table inside the restau
rant.
•driving while driver’s license
is suspended or revoked, willful
obstruction of law enforcement offi
cers and outstanding warrant on West
Kimball Street, where two cars were
stopped side-by-side in the roadway
with the drivers talking to each other.

Statham Police Department
Five arrested by SPD
The Statham Police Department reports the recent
arrests of five people. Those arrested and their charges
were:
•Johnathan Banjamin Fuller, 26, 227 Dyno Trail,
Statham, possession and use of drug-related objects, pos
session of marijuana and driving while driver's license is
suspended or revoked.
•Rafael Zamudio-Blanco, 27, 406 Shenandoah Court,
Winder, speeding and driving without a valid driver’s
license.
•Darrell Matthew Wright, 40, 75 Nunnally Road NE,
Winder, probation violation.
•Herbert Lee Daniel, 56, 2910 Farmington Road, Madi
son, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
•Rosalind Angela Daniel, 53, 2910 Farmington Road,
Madison, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
Auburn, Braselton arrests
Town arrests reported
Arrests made by Auburn and Braselton police depart
ments last week were:
AUBURN
•Jennifer Marie Tinsley, 22, 515 Rosewood Circle,
Winder, probation violation, giving a false name, address
or birthdate to a law enforcement officer, willful obstruc
tion of law enforcement officers and theft of services.
•Lashawn Demont Little, 18, 435 West Main Street.
Clayton, N.C., failure to appear bench warrant.
BRASELTON
•Jason Bender, 42, 34 Anteater Drive, Cleveland, out
standing warrant.
•Kenneth Henry Howard, 41, 331 Parks Street. Pender
grass, probation violation.
APD incidents
Damage to mailbox reported
The following incidents were recently reported to the
Auburn Police Department:
•damage to property at a Clover Drive residence, where
a man reported damage to his mailbox.
•harassing communications at a Carter Road residence,
where a woman reported her daughter was receiving text
messages from another female.
•criminal trespass at a Carter Road residence, where a
woman reported damage to her 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser
parked at her residence.
•theft by taking at Dollar General on Atlanta Highway,
where a man reported the theft of a Stihl blower from his
truck parked at the store.
•failure to appear bench warrant at a 4th Avenue resi
dence.
•civil matter at a Jonaquil Avenue. Dacula, residence,
where a woman reported receiving a harassing text mes
sage from her children’s biological father.
•no insurance at a traffic stop on County Line-Auburn
Road.
•domestic dispute at a Heatherwood Drive residence,
where a female reported her ex-husband and his parents
would not let her see her two children.
BCSO incidents
Employees charged with
theft by taking at Chico’s
Five employees of Chico’s on Barrow Industrial Park
way in Auburn were recently charged with theft by taking
by the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
The employees were charged for reportedly steal
ing items from the business over a period of time. The
employees had been under investigation since July of this
year.
Two of the employees reportedly stole over $12,000
each in merchandise.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the BCSO include:
•driving while unlicensed on University Parkway at
Smith Cemetery Road, Winder, where the driver of a
Honda was stopped for failing to yield when pulling into
traffic.
