called later to say she had
found her husband in Gwin
nett County.

address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer
and willful obstruction of
law enforcement officers at
a Wood Avenue residence,
where an argument between
a male and female was
reported.
The male gave officers a
false name and fled from the
scene on foot.
•theft by shoplifting
at Dollar General on 2nd
Street, where a man report
edly walked out of the store
with several items in a shop
ping basket without attempt
ing to pay for the items.
•lost/found property at
Kentucky Fried Chicken on
West Athens Street, where
a man reported losing his
wallet.
•improper lane change/
failure to maintain lane,
open container violation,
improper left turn, driving
under the influence (DUI) of
multiple substances, reckless
driving and driving without
a valid driver’s license at an
East Athens Street location,
where a traffic stop was ini
tiated on the driver of a 2006
Volkswagen Jetta.

had been asked to leave, was

reported receiving threaten
ing text messages from her
ex-husband.

where a man reported the
theft of a 2006 Volkswagen
Jetta that had been dropped
off at a shop to be repaired.

idence, where two drivers
reported damage to their
vehicles after they struck
something in the roadway.
•driving while driver's
license is suspended or
revoked at Holly Hill Mall
on West Athens Street,
where a traffic stop was ini
tiated on the driver of a 2011
Honda Civic.
•possession of marijuana
and public drunkenness at
the Valero Gas Station on
Monroe Highway, where
a suspicious person was
reported.
An employee stated a
man was passed out inside
a Chevrolet Tahoe that had

using/possessing identifying
information concerning a
person at a Midland Ave
nue location, where a female
reported a man she used to
work with told her he had
a Georgia driver's license is
his brother's name, but had
a Georgia identification card
in his real name. She said he
did this because his New Jer
sey license was suspended.
•battery at a Mobile Drive
residence, where a woman
reported several boys had
jumped on her son and beat
him up.

WINDER PD AND AKINS FORD PARTNER TO RAISE
AWARENESS FOR BREAST CANCER
The City of Winder Police Department unveiled its newest addition to
the patrol fleet this weekend at the annual Jug Tavern Festival in down
town Winder. The new addition is a patrol car that has been painted
entirely pink for the purpose of raising awareness for breast cancer. The
patrol car will be utilized by the Winder Police Department as a normal
patrol vehicle conducting normal police operations for the entire month
of October. In addition, the car will be used at other Winder festivals,
parades and other special events. The City of Winder and the WPD has
several employees who have been personally impacted through their
own family and friends who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Akins Ford partnered with WPD in this cause and provided the time and
resources to paint and stripe the custom police car.
