Stacy Rashaun Alexander,
28, husband of Amanda Sar-
tain Alexander, died Wednesday,
October 5, 2016.
Born in Royston, Stacy was
the son of Stacy Lee (Tammy)
Rucker and Tamala (Darryl
Allen) Alexander. Stacy had
a true love
for children
and was
able to show
this through
coaching.
He began
coaching
at 16 years
old. He was
currently a
football and
basketball
coach for the Madison Coun
ty Middle School. He always
influenced kids to be better, not
only as a player but as a per
son. He truly loved his family
and always had a smile on his
face. He was currently working
for Athens Pepsi Company and
had attended Mt. Zion Baptist
Church in Bowman.
Survivors in addition to his
parents include his son, Calen
McCullough; grandparents, Car

and Beatrice Alexander. Earlene

Jean Skiles Appleby, 75, passed
away Saturday, October 8, 2016,
at her residence.
Mrs. Appleby was born April
18, 1941, in Christiana, Pa. She
worked for the Clarke County
School System, and was pre
ceded in death by her parents,
Vernon and Kathryn Chestnut
Davis; and a son, Eddie Apple
by.
Survivors include her hus
band, Harold Appleby, Daniels-
ville; sons and daughters-in-law,
Gary and Tina Appleby and Alan
and Liz Appleby, all of Daniels-
ville, and Butch and Johnnette
Appleby, Hull; son, Rusty
Appleby. Pennsylvania; brother,

Henry Brubaker
Henry Allen Brubaker entered
peacefully into his heavenly
home on Sunday, October 9,
2016.
Born in Troutville, Va., he
was the son of Jonathan Hartsel
Brubaker and Lucy Jane Wiley
Brubaker. He was also preceded
in death by his wife of 65 years,
Doris Myers Brubaker and
infant son, Carl David Brubaker.
At the age of 17, he served in the
United States
Navy for three
years on ships
in Norfolk,
San Francisco,
Hawaii, Bikini Atoll, Guam, San
Diego, Panama Canal. Virgin
Islands and Puerto Rico. Plac
ing a high value on education,
he pursued an undergraduate
degree from Bridgewater Col
lege, followed by two Master's
degrees, and ultimately gaining
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
from the University of Georgia.
He was employed in veterinary
practice in Dublin, Draper, and
Rocky Mount, Va., Lexington
and Comer, as well as teaching
at the University of Georgia Col
lege of Veterinary Medicine. He
served as the assistant State Vet
erinarian in Georgia. He devoted
52 years to animal health, which
coupled with countless friend
ships with animal owners, were
true pleasures of his life.
On August 12, 1950, he
married his loyal wife, Doris
Ruth Myers, and they became
the dedicated parents of four
children, Wayne Allen Brubaker
(Mary), Crawford, Ga., Cheryl
Ruth Brubaker Parr (Boyd),
Newberry, S.C., Susan Jane
Brubaker Andrews (Charles
"Chuck”), Comer, and Dale
Henry Brubaker (Sara “Sande”),
Comer; ten grandchildren, and
seven great-grandchildren.
Also, surviving are sisters Lois
Brubaker Flora (Norman), Dal-
eville, Va., Peggy Brubaker
Webster (Ralph), Roanoke, Va.,
and Harriet Brubaker Pinckard
(Noel), New Bern, N.C.
A special thanks to his faith

Eileen McWhorter
WINDER - Eileen Graham
McWhorter died Wednesday.
October 5, 2016, at her resi
dence following an extensive
struggle with her health.
She was born in Beaumont,
Texas, on August 5. 1936, the
daughter of the late Corrine and
Claude Graham, who preceded
her in death. Eileen left Texas
to attend Agnes Scott College
in Atlanta, where she graduated
with a B.A. in Art. While attend
ing college, she met her future
husband. Penn McWhorter, of
Winder.
Her beauty, graciousness and
serenity were acknowledged by
all who knew her. Throughout
her life Eileen was very active
in the First United Methodist
Church of
Winder, con
tributing her
time and tal
ent over the
decades and
becoming a
pillar of the
church. Her
faith, couples
group, and
bridge club
were central in healing after the
loss of their first child in 1968,
Elizabeth Graham McWhorter,
at the age of 9.
Survivors include her hus
band. Honorable T. Penn
McWhorter; four children and
their families, Thad and Denise
McWhorter and their daughters
Carroll and husband Jon Fitz

2016, at her residence.

Evans. Mrs.
Tanner was
employed
as a seam
stress at Blue Bell Manufactur
ing in Commerce for 10 years,
and later as plant manager
for Barrow Manufacturing in
Maysville for 30 years. She was
also employed in food service at
Banks County Primary School.
She was a graduate of Banks
County High School.
Martha was an active member
of Beaverdam Baptist Church,
where she served as Sunday
School teacher, in VBS, a choir
member, and in many other
capacities.
Survivors include her hus
band, Roy Tanner, Jr., whom she
met on a blind date when she
was 15 years old. It was love at
first sight and continued to grow
steadily through their marriage
of over 63 years.
Survivors include her son
and daughter-in-law. Steve
and Sonja Tanner, Carnesville;
daughter and son-in-law, Melis
sa and Joe Autry. Commerce;
grandsons. Clint (Millie) Tan
ner and Kyle (Kari) Tanner;
and great-grandchildren, Carly,
