Peggy Autry
NICHOLSON Peggy
Rice Autry, 76, passed
away following an extend
ed illness on Wednesday,
October 5, 2016.
She was born Decem
ber 7, 1939, the daugh
ter of the late Will and
Essie Bone Rice, formerly
of Madison County. Mrs.
Autry was of the Baptist
denomination and was a
homemaker. She was a
faithful wife and mother
and always enjoyed the
company of others, espe
cially at the holidays and
family get-togethers, with
a warm spirit. Mrs. Autry
was preceded in death by
her brothers, Horace and
Donald Rice; and great-
granddaughter, Anne
Marie Dunaway.
Survivors include her
husband of 57 years, Jer-
rel R. Autry, Nicholson;
sons and daughters-in-
law, Mark Autry (Cindy),
Homer, Joe Autry (Melis
sa), Maysville, Michael
Autry (Shannon), Jef
ferson, and Ricky Autry
(Tami), Danielsville;
brother, Gene Rice
(Peggy), Watkinsville; sis
ter, Thelma Benton, Ath
ens; grandchildren, Bran
don, Kellyn, Hope, Brandi,
Eli, and Taylor Autry;
great-grandchildren, Slater
and Alberta; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were
held Saturday, October
8, at the chapel of Little-
Ward Funeral Home with
the Rev. Billy Owensby
officiating. Interment was
in Howington Cemetery.

Gatha Barrett
HOMER - Gatha Mar
tin Barrett, 84, was called
to her eternal home on
Wednesday, October 12,
2016.
She was headed to her
favorite place, Homer Bap
tist Church, but her Lord
and Savior had a different
plan for her evening, an
eternal one.
Ms. Barrett was born
on February 11, 1932, in
Banks County, the daugh
ter of the late Tom and
Ethel Martin. She was
preceded in death by a
son, Thomas Haskel Bar
rett; brothers, Cohen,
Gene, Ferd, Tommy, and
Henry Martin; sister, Mary
Caudell; and father of their
children, Frank Barrett.
Ms. Barrett was a very
active member of Homer
Baptist Church. She was
a retired inspector from
W.M. Wrigley Company
with 25 years of service.
Gatha loved to go. If
anyone mentioned going
someplace, she was
always ready and dressed
to impress. Her favorite
places were wherever there
was a gospel singing, espe
cially to hear Clark Kesler
and Family. Her other love
was her children and her
brothers and sisters.
Survivors include sons
and daughters-in-law, Rod
ney and Teresa Barrett,
Gainesville, and Forrest
and Terrie Barrett, Com
merce; brother, John Mar
tin, Trenton; grandchil
dren, Daniel and Cassidy
Barrett, Oakwood, Nicole
Barrett, Gainesville,
Charlie Barrett, Flowery
Branch, Courtney Barrett,
Flowery Branch, and Sissy
Barrett, Commerce; great
grandchildren, Hunter and
Bailey Barrett, both of
Oakwood; and two special
friends, Ann Millwood and
Brenda Chambers.
Funeral services were
held Saturday, October 15,
at Homer Baptist Church
with the Rev. Charles
Crabbe officiating. Inter
ment was at Alta Vista
Cemetery in Gainesville.

Bobby Bolemon
HULL - Bobby Stanford
Bolemon, 61, passed away
on Saturday, October 15,
2016.
Mr. Bolemon was born
in Royston on September
29, 1955, the son of Bob
bie Sue Hart Bolemon of
Danielsville and the late
Orville Haley Bolemon.
He was a machinist and
a member of Friendship
Baptist Church. He was
preceded in death by two
brothers, Stanley Bolemon
and Mike Bolemon.
Survivors in addition to
his mother, include a son,
Scott (Sandra) Bolemon,
Toccoa; daughter, Alisha
(Brian) Scott, Athens;
brothers, Billy (Rita) Bole
mon and Orville (Tammy)
Bolemon, both of Royston;
sisters, Susan Morgan and
Sheila (Greg) Morgan,
both of Ila; and grandchil
dren, Taylor Bolemon and
Tristan Bolemon.

Home Chapel on Tuesday,
October 18, with Chief
Donnie Bolemon officiat
ing.

guerite Arthur Carlson and

of Liv
ing Hope
Christian
Fellowship Church and
was a Bible study teacher.
He was employed with the
City of Atlanta as a super
visor in the wastewater
management department
for many years.

Decatur; son, Andrew
Carlson, Jefferson; son,
Matthew Carlson and his
fiance, Angel Thierbach,

Carlson and partner, Garey

dogs, Chiquita, Riley
Gizmo, Daisy Bird, Fiona
Louise, Pearline; niece
dogs, Sophie, Emma and
Callie the cat; and extend

and loving friends.
A memorial service will
be held at 2 p.m. Sunday,
October 23, in the chapel
of Evans Funeral Home
with the Rev. Ralph Evans
and Pastor Allen Stevens
officiating. The family will
receive friends Sunday,
October 23, from 1 p.m.
until the hour of service at
the funeral home.

tleton, 74, died Saturday,
October 15, 2016, at his
residence.
Born in Clanton, Ala.,
he was the son of the late
James Grady Littleton and
Lessie Christine Davis Lit
tleton. He was preceded
in death by his siblings,
James F. “Jimmy” Little
ton and Virginia Ann Hen
son. Ralph retired from
American General Life
Insurance. He never met
a stranger, truly enjoyed
people and loved hunting,
fishing and sports.
Survivors include his
longtime companion,
Estelle Wills, Comer; sib
lings, Gail Dansby, Roger
Littleton, Eulene Hollon,
Kathy Farris, Dan Little
ton, and Raybon “Tad” Lit
tleton, all of Alabama; and
many nieces and nephews.

denomination.

two grandchildren, Alex
ander and David Smith,

A native of Washington,
D. C., he was the son of the
late Enoch Julian and Ruth
McDonald Spence. He
was preceded in death by
his sister, Nora Lou Price.
Mr. Spence was a United
States Army veteran, serv
ing with
the 82nd
Airborne
Division.
He was

member of

First Bap
tist Church
and attended the Young
at Heart Sunday School
Class. Mr. Spence was
active in the Southern Bap
tist Disaster Relief Pro
gram.
