Driving without license and speeding reported to sheriffs office
The following recent inci
dents were reported to the
Barrow County Sheriff’s
Office:
•driving without a valid
driver’s license, no insurance
and expired license plate on
Loganville Highway, Beth
lehem, where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driver of
a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander.
•speeding on University
Parkway at Bethlehem Road,
Statham, where the driver of
a 2014 Audi was stopped for
traveling 82 mph in a 65-mph
speed zone.
•burglary at Lucky Lotto
Pantry, Atlanta Highway SE,
Winder, where the front door
had been pried open and
someone had taken approx
imately $10,000 in currency
and an unknown amount of
cigarettes.
•possession of marijua
na and speeding on Mount
Moriah Road at Etheridge
Road, Auburn, where atraffic
stop was conducted on the
driver of a 2006 Ford Explor
er who was speeding.
•burglary, criminal tres
pass and theft by taking at
a Newnham Walk, Bethle
hem, where a man reported
someone entered his and his
wife’s unlocked residence,
while they were in bed sleep
ing, and stole his wife’s purse
containing her car keys,
driver’s license, gift cards,
checkbook, and credit and
debit cards, and an Xbox and
Kindle Fire.
•suspicious activity at a
Rockwell Church Road NW,
Winder, residence, where
a man stated he received a
call from his trash company
telling him not to put dead
animals in his trash can. The
complainant said he did not
and would not put a dead ani
mal in his trash can. He said
the trash company represen
tative advised when his trash
was picked up the previous
day there was a dead dog in
the trash can and this wasn’t
the first time a dead dog had
been in his trash can.
•theft by taking at a Han
cock Bridge Road, Wind
er, residence, where a man
reported someone had stolen
the tag off his trailer.
•identity theft fraud when
using/possessing identifying
information concerning a
person at a Highway 211 NE,
Winder, residence, where a
woman reported receiving an
email from Verizon in refer
ence to two new cell phones
and two new lines that had
been ordered on hers and her
husband’s account. The com
plainant stated she contacted
Verizon and informed them
they did not order the phones.
•criminal trespass at
Walmart, Atlanta Highway
NW, Winder, where a man
was reported “panhandling”
in the parking lot.
•lost wallet at the Exxon
gas station on Loganville
Highway, Bethlehem.
•burglary at a Persimmon
Place Drive, Bethlehem,
residence, where a woman
reported her husband whom
she is divorcing had been
inside the residence.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked on Loganville High
way at Tucker Road, Winder,
where a traffic accident was
reported. A woman stated
she was stopped for traffic
and someone rear-ended her
2002 Hyundai. As it armed
out the complainant was
arrested when it was deter
mined her driver’s license
was suspended for failure to
appear.
•identity theft fraud when
using/possessing identifying
information concerning a
person at a Pinecrest Road
SE, Winder, residence, where
a man reported receiving a
credit card in the mail that he
did not order.
•domestic dispute at a Mill
Creek Road, Bethlehem,
residence, where a woman
reported a verbal argument
between her and her live-in
boyfriend.
•failure to register a vehi
cle on University Parkway at
Loganville Highway, Bethle
hem, where a traffic stop was
initiated on the driver of a
2016 Glavalbus.
•driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of alcohol,
improper lane change/failure
to maintain lane and failure to
exercise due care when using
cell phone/radio on Univer
sity Parkway at Carl-Bethle-
hem Road, Winder, where a
traffic stop was conducted on
the driver of a 2003 Toyota
Sequoia.
•harassing phone calls at
Fatz Cafe, Atlanta Highway
NW, Winder, where a female
employee reported receiv
ing phone calls from a male
she met approximately two
weeks ago while working.
•criminal trespass at a Per
simmon Place Drive, Beth
lehem, residence, where a
man reported his mailbox
had been “knocked to the
ground.”
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked and speeding at a
Harry McCarty Road, Beth
lehem, location where a traf
fic stop was initiated on the
driver of a 2015 Chevrolet
Cruz who was traveling 53
mph in a 35-mph speed zone.
•driving without a valid
driver’s license and improp
er passing in a no-passing
zone on Highway 211 NE
at Clearwater Drive, Wind
er, where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of a
1991 Toyota Camry.
•trespass at Walmart,
Winder, where a suspicious
person was reported. The
complainant stated a man
had been walking in and out
of the store and was being
unruly to an employee.
•simple battery at a
Carl-Bethlehem Road,
Auburn, where a man report
ed being assaulted by another
man as he was working on
a car in his driveway. The
complainant said he was
assaulted, by the other man,
because he (complainant) is
a registered sex offender. The
complainant stated during the
assault he was bitten by a dog
that was with the other man.
•suspicious activity at an
East Wright Street, Wind
er, residence, where a man
reported damage to his front
door as if someone had tried
to pry it open.
•forgery at a Fort Street,
Winder, residence, where a
woman had reportedly paid
for delivered Chinese food
with two counterfeit $20
bills.
•outstanding arrest warrant
at a Persimmon Place Drive,
Bethlehem, residence.
•burglary at a Stillwood
Drive, Winder, residence,
where a man reported some
one had entered his residence
and stole a change jar with
approximately $250 inside, a
1 Plus cell phone and a Mav
erick shot gun.
•theft by taking and crimi
nal trespass at a Hawk Creek
Trail, Winder, residence.
where a man reported the
theft of yard decorations.
•theft by receiving sto
len property on Beaver Hill
Drive, Bethlehem, where
a stolen 2003 Ford F-150
truck was reportedly located,
“chopped up on a trailer.”
•driving without a valid
driver’s license, improper
lane change/failure to main
tain lane and permitting an
unlicensed person to drive
on University Parkway at
Harry McCarty Road, where
a traffic stop was initiated on
the driver of a 2003 Nissan
Sentra.
•theft by taking at Publix,
Loganville Highway, Bethle
hem, where a woman report
ed the theft of her purse and
cell phone. She said she acci
dentally left her purse and
cell phone in a buggy, and
when she realized it she went
back to retrieve the items, but
they were missing.
•improper lane change/fail-
ure to maintain lane, reckless
driving, fleeing/attempting
to elude a law enforcement
officer and expired license
plate on Georgetowne Drive
at Governor’s Lane, Wind
er, where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of a
1999 Chevrolet Tahoe,
•driving without a valid
driver’s license on Marion
Street at North Myrtle Street,
Winder, where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driver
of a 2003 GMC Envoy after
they passed three school
buses with their stop signs
out.
•entering an automo
bile or other motor vehicle
with the intent to commit
a theft or other felony and
criminal trespass at a Mat
thews School Road, Winder,
residence, where a woman
reported someone entered
her vehicle and stole her cell
phone.
•theft by taking at Walmart,
Atlanta Highway NW, Wind
er, where a man reported the
theft of his 1996 Ford Ranger
truck from the parking lot
while he was inside the store
for 20-30 minutes.
•injuring, tearing down
or destruction of mailboxes;
injuring, defacing or destroy
ing mail at a Wentworth Cove
Court, Winder, residence,
where a woman reported her
mailbox had been damaged.
•criminal trespass at Kan
garoo Gas Station, Christmas
Avenue, Bethlehem, where
a man reported his 2016
Dodge Dart was damaged by
a UPS tractor-trailer that was
traveling beside him.
