There will be 500 plates
given away on a first come,
first serve basis from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday,
Nov. 19, at the City of
Auburn downtown pavil
ion.
“We wish everyone a
blessed and happy Thanks
giving.” organizers state.
Miracle Deliverance
Church will be holding
its Annual Thanksgiving
Community Dinner at 12
p.m. on Thursday. Nov. 24.
“Everyone is invited to
come join us for food and
fellowship,” said Brianna

friends around the globe
will be united with hun
dreds of thousands of peo
ple to commemorate and
honor the memories of the
sons, daughters, brothers,
sisters and grandchildren
who were gone too soon,
leaders state.

Methodist Church offers
a Parents Morning Out
program on Wednesdays,
from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.
Parents Morning Out
is a weekly program that
provides childcare for
children six months old
through pre-school age.
The cost is $10 per child
(sibling discount). Par
ticipants will pay by the
month.
The program is held in
Room 131 in the Pasley
Family Life Center at the
back of the church located
at 280 North Broad Street,
Winder.

ROTARIANS JOIN INTERACT CLUBS FOR PROJECT
Winder Rotarians joined Interact Club members and worked with the Director
of the Boys & Girls Club, Derek Hutchens, to clean portions of the old Winder-
Barrow Middle School, now Wimberly Center in anticipation of its opening in
December housing several non-profits. Several prominent community lead
ers who are Rotarians participated in the cleanup project.
Rotary Club joins groups for project
The Rotary Club of
Winder recently joined
their two sponsored Inter
act clubs for a joint service
project.
Interact is a club for
young people ages 12-18
who want to tackle the
issues in their community
that they care most about.
Interact clubs carry out
service projects, make
international connections,
and develop leadership
skills.
The Rotary Club of
Winder sponsors Inter
act Clubs at Apalachee
and Winder-Barrow high
schools.
On Nov. 10, members of
the Rotary Club of Winder
met with representatives
from both Interact clubs at
the Wimberly Center.
The Wimberly Center
for Community Develop
ment is a community hub
that will better the Glen-
wood area of Winder. It
will have a community
garden, walking/fitness
trail and a community
kitchen. It will hold offic
es of Action, Inc., Winder
Housing Authority, and the
Boys and Girls Clubs of
Winder-Barrow County.
In addition to having a
boxed lunch, Rotarians and
Interactors worked with
Derek Hutchens, Direc
tor of the Boys and Girls
Clubs, to provide “Room
Service.”

berly Center in anticipa
tion of the Center’s open
ing in December 2016.
Club members cleaned
bathrooms, hallways, the
Learning Center, and other
areas.
This hands-on project
is one example of how
the Rotary Club of Wind
er lives up to the Rotary
International motto, “Ser
vice above self.”
Bible study/prayer meet
ing is on Wednesdays at
7 p.m.
