Barrow County Sheriff’s Office incident reports
Thefts, burglaries, criminal trespass reported to sheriff’s office
The Barrow County Sheriff’s
Office recently responded to the
following incidents:
•harassing phone calls at an
Azalea Drive. Winder, residence,
where a woman reported a
female “keeps calling her phone
and leaving messages.”
•failure to report an accident
with injury/death, unsafe oper
ation of a motorcycle and no
insurance/proof of insurance on
a motorcycle on Highway 211
NW at Freeman Johnson Road,
Hoschton, where a motorcycle
accident was reported. A witness
to the accident reported the male
driver of the motorcycle fled the
scene with a female motorcycle
driver.
•domestic dispute at an East
Wright Street, Winder, residence,
where a female reported her
ex-boyfriend had asked her to
move out of the residence since
she no longer had a job. She said
she didn’t have anywhere else to
go and she would be living on the
streets. She said she wanted her
ex-boyfriend to receive notice
that he would have to go through
the eviction process through the
courts to put her out of the res
idence the two have shared for
about four years.
•fight at an Eastbrook Drive,
Winder, residence. The female
complainant reported another
female grabbed her shirt and she
(complainant) shoved the other
female.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Atlanta Highway NW.
Winder, where a female report
edly took $38 in merchandise
and attempted to exit the store
without paying for the items.
•entering an automobile or
other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or other
felony and theft by taking at a
Ridgeside Drive, Bethlehem, res
idence, where a woman report
ed someone entered her 2011
Dodge Caravan and stole $80 in
currency and $20 in coins.
•theft by taking at Perfor
mance Plus Repair, Atlanta
Highway NW, Auburn, where a
man reported the theft of a 1981
Chevrolet Camaro and various
parts, all valued at $7,000.
•simple battery at an Eastbrook
Drive. Winder, residence, where
a man reported an argument with
his mother’s live-in boyfriend.
•traffic complaint on Manning
Gin Road at Manning Way, Mon
roe. where the female driver of a
2010 Honda RV reported striking
a deer causing slight damage to
the grill and hood.
•speeding and no insurance
on University Parkway at Hog
Mountain Road, Winder, where
the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet
Camaro was stopped for travel
ing 85 mph in a 65-mph speed
zone.
•entering an automobile or
other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or other
felony and theft by taking at
a Loblolly Lane, Winder, resi
dence. where a woman reported
someone entered her 2008 Ford
Taurus and stole a leather com
puter bag, leather backpack, lap
top computer and leather jacket,
all valued at $660.
•theft by taking at Walmart,
Winder, where a man reported,
while his 1997 Ford F-150 truck
was parked at Walmart someone
stole his Madison County tag and
replaced it with a tag stolen out
of Barrow County.
•forgery at an Etheridge Drive,
Auburn, residence, where a
woman reported paying for pizza
with money she had received
from a friend and it turned out
the money was counterfeit.
•theft by receiving stolen prop
erty at a Thurmond Road NE.
Statham, residence, where a Ford
F-700 dump truck reported sto
len from the Georgia Club was
located.
•theft by receiving stolen prop
erty at a 1st Street, Statham, resi
dence. where a John Deere 310G
loader reported stolen from the
Georgia Club was located.
•theft by taking at a Kay Drive,
Winder, residence, where a man
reported the theft of a Novi GPS.
valued at $80.
•suspicious vehicle at an East
Broad Street. Winder, location,
where stolen items were located
inside a vehicle that was stopped.
•theft by taking at a Windstone
Drive. Winder, residence, where
a man reported the theft of 39
bundles of shingles valued at
$1,170 from on top of a resi
dence under construction.
•duty to report striking an
unattended vehicle at El Real.
Loganville Highway, Bethlehem,
where a man reported someone
struck his 2011 Ford F-150 truck
parked at this location.
•criminal trespass at a Tanners
Bridge Road, Bethlehem, resi
dence. where a domestic dispute
was reported between a woman
and her son.
•disorderly conduct and willful
obstruction of law enforcement
officers at a Dillard Way, Bethle
hem, residence, where a domes
tic dispute was reported.
•domestic dispute at a Tom
Miller Road, Bethlehem, resi
dence.
•theft by taking at Kangaroo.
Christmas Avenue, Bethlehem,
where a woman reported the
theft of the Leukemia and Lym
phoma Society donation board.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where a
female reportedly took $27 in
merchandise without paying for
it and then attempted to return
the items to receive a refund.
•possession of methamphet-
amine, forging/counterfeiting
trademarks, service marks, copy-

Winder Police Department incident reports
Winder police respond to domestic dispute, other incidents
The Winder Police
Department recently
responded to the following
incidents:
•domestic dispute at a
West Midland Avenue res
idence. where a woman
reported receiving a letter
from her husband, whom
she has a no contact bond
against, that she “felt was
threatening her family.”
•criminal trespass, run
away juvenile and simple
assault - Family Violence
Act (FVA) at a Williamson
Street residence, where a
woman reported an argu
ment between her two
juvenile sons. She said
when she told the juve
niles to stop arguing one of
her sons “stood up. balled
up his fist and flinched at
his mother.” She said she
was afraid he was going to
hit her. The complainant
said her son then went out
side and kicked the front
driver’s side of her 2006
Hyundai Sonata causing
a dent. She said her son
came back in the house,
got some clothes, stated
“f#&k all of you,” and left.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at Huddle House,
West May Street, where a
traffic stop was conducted
on the driver of a 2005
Buick LeSabre.
•welfare check on a juve
nile who had been locked
out of a Bush Chapel Drive
residence. A female at the
residence stated her and
her daughter got into a
verbal argument because
the house was not clean,
but “everything was O.K.
now.” The juvenile said her
and her mother got into an
argument and her moth
er locked her out of the
house and she called her
grandmother to come pick
her up. The juvenile stated
everything was O.K. now
because her mother let her
back in the house,
•simple battery and
criminal trespass on
East Midland Avenue. A
woman reported her and
her boyfriend, whom she
does not live with, got in
an argument at his res
idence and he wouldn’t
let her take her clothing
and leave. She said she
left anyway and started
walking down East Mid
land Avenue towards the
City of Winder. She said
her boyfriend followed
her. grabbed her shirt and
pushed her down on the
side of the road. She said
he also took her cell phone
and smashed it.
•hit and run: duty of the
driver to stop at or return
to the scene of an accident
on West Athens Street. A
woman reported the driver
of a Ford commercial van
struck the rear of her 1987
Mazda B200 truck when
she was stopped at the traf
fic light on West Athens
Street. She said the driver
of the van fled the scene.
•lost/found property at
El Camino Restaurant on
North Broad Street, where
a man reported losing his
wallet.
•affray (fighting) at a
Graham Street residence,
where a woman reported
being assaulted by a male.
•hit and run: duty of the
driver to stop at or return
to the scene of an accident
at Phillips 66 Short Stop
on North Broad Street,
where a woman reported
a male driving a 1996 Toy
ota Camry struck her 2006
Honda Accord and then
fled the scene.
•suspicious activity at a
Sander Circle residence,
where a woman reported
finding a note on a bicycle,
that did not belong to her,
in the driveway.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at the Shell Gas Sta
tion on Highway 211, Bra-
selton. where a female was
picked up.
•death investigation at
a James Street residence,
where an 88-year-old
female was found unre
sponsive.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked on West Athens
Street, where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driver
of a 2009 Chevrolet Sil
verado.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at Kangaroo, East
May Street, where a traffic
stop was conducted on the
driver of a 2012 Nissan
Murano.
•theft by shoplifting
at Kangaroo, East May
Street, where a man report
edly took a $40 Myth
Vaporizer and left the store
without paying for it.
•hit and run; duty of the
driver to stop at or return
to the scene of an accident
and failure to yield while
turning left on West May
Street, where a two-vehi
cle accident was reported.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at a Park Avenue res
idence. where a welfare
check was requested.
•probation violation at
an Elm Street location
where several people were
reported to be in the road
way throwing dice.
•criminal trespass at a
Wisteria Drive residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported. A man at the
residence stated his wife
was “acting violent,” and
was breaking items in the
residence.
•criminal trespass at a
Stovall Street residence,
where a man reported
hearing noises outside his
residence and later finding
his doorknob damaged.
•theft by shoplifting at
the Shell Station on East
Midland Avenue, where a
man reported two 16-year-
olds had grabbed an ice
cream and ran off without
paying.
•driving while driv
er’s license is suspended
or revoked and expired
license plate at a Park Ave
nue location, where a traf
fic stop was initiated on
the driver of a 2005 Acura
TL.
•armed robbery at a Lily
Drive residence, where a
woman reported two males
kicked her door in. She
said one of the men had
a pump shotgun that he
stuck in her face and point
ed at her son. She said the
men took approximately
$800 in cash.
•burglary at a Buena
Vista Street residence,
where a man reported
someone had forced open
his garage door and taken
several items from his res
idence.
•simple battery and
reckless conduct at a
Graham Street residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported. The female
complainant, who is eight
months pregnant, reported
a female at the residence
pushed her to the ground.
•suspicious activity at a
Virginia Avenue location,
where a man reported
someone had attempted to
pry open the side door to
his building in an attempt
to gain entry into the build
ing.
•speeding, permitting an
unlicensed person to drive
and driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked at Royal Blue on
North Broad Street, where
a traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 1998
Ford Escort for traveling
38 mph in a 25-mph zone.
•fraud at McDonald’s on
North Broad Street, where
a fake $20 bill was used to
make a purchase.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked at the Shell Gas
Station on East Midland
Avenue, where a traffic
