WIN DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
The Bethlehem Shooting Stars youth
archery team opened its 2016-17 sea
son on Saturday with a first-place
finish in the National Archery in the
Schools Program district tournament
at Loganville Middle School. The team
qualified for the regional tournament,
which will be held at Loganville High
School on Jan. 14. The Shooting
Stars are hoping to qualifiy for the
state tournament and then perhaps
the national and world tournaments.

Bethlehem Shooting Stars finish first
in district tournament in Loganville
The Bethlehem Shooting Stars archery
team began its 2016-17 season with a
first-place finish last week, winning the
National Archery in the Schools Program
(NASP) district tournament at Loganville
Middle School on Saturday.
The team had a score of 2914 in its
victory and qualified to compete in the
regional tournament, which will be held at
Loganville High School on Jan. 14, with
hopes of advancing to the state tourna
ment.
The Shooting Stars have qualified for
state, national and world tournaments over
the past several years.
But this was their first time winning first
place in a tournament, according to a news
release.
The team was led by TJ Wilson, who fin
ished first in the boys elementary division
with a score of 276 and a seventh-place
finish overall for all boys in all three divi
sions.
Mason Peppers placed third with a score
of 263.
Abigail Rhoades lead the girls with a
score of 254, placing fourth in the girls
elementary division.
Delainey Drum placed sixth with a 246
and Brianna Ashe placed seventh with a
245.
The Stars had many other archers who
contributed to their success.
They included: Aaron Kimelman (243),
Chase Carter (236), Jyrah Hughey (234),
Jeff Nguyen (232), Kayla Wilson (231),
Dixie Oakes (22), Nicole Tinoco (227),
Brayden Cato (224) and Liam King (220).
