John Lee Anderson
MACON - John Lee Ander
son, Jr., M.D., 81, entered into
eternal rest at his home, while
surrounded by his loving family,
on Saturday,
December 17,
2016.
John was
a member of
Vineville Bap
tist Church for
over 40 years.
He was born
June 11, 1935,
in LaGrange,
the son of the
late John Lee Anderson and
Ruth Palmer Smith Anderson.
John was a loving and devoted
son, brother, husband, father,
and grandfather. He spent his
formative years in Jefferson,
where he was active in 4-H,
loved hunting and fishing,
and the outdoors. He recalled
fondly his trips to Lake Rabun
in his youth and his love for
the North Georgia mountains.
These memories remained with
him throughout his life. He
graduated with honors in the
1953 class at Jefferson High
School, where he lettered in
four sports and was selected as
Mr. Jefferson High School along
with several other superlative
awards. In 1956, John graduated
with honors from the University
of Georgia with a Bachelor of
Science in zoology and chem
istry. At UGA he was a member
and officer of BIFTAD Honor
Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, as
well as, a member of The Honor
Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi
Sigma Biological Sciences
Honor Society, Demosthenian
Literary Society, and Argonauts.
He then attended the Medical
College of Georgia, where he
was a member of Phi Chi medi
cal fraternity and received his
Medical Doctorate in 1960.
Upon graduation from medi
cal school in 1960, he mar
ried Bobbye Carol Ward and
enjoyed 56 wonderful years of
marriage. Following gradua
tion from the Medical College
of Georgia, John and Bobbye
moved to Macon, where he
completed his rotating Intern
ship at Macon Hospital. Upon
completion of his internship, he
began a residency at MCG when
he was drafted into military ser
vice. After being commissioned
a Naval officer, John served his
country in the United States
Navy, receiving flight surgeon
training in Pensacola, Florida.
He was a US Navy Flight Sur
geon stationed at the USNAS
in Argentia, Newfoundland,
Canada. After serving in the
military, he completed a resi
dency in radiology at the Medi
cal College of South Carolina in
Charleston, S.C. John became
board certified in Diagnostic
Radiology, Family Medicine,
Nuclear Medicine and Radia
tion Oncology. John was the
third physician to join the newly
organized Radiology Associates
of Macon in 1973, where he
practiced until his retirement in
1998. He served three years as
head of radiology department
at Middle Georgia Hospital and
was an associate clinical profes
sor at Mercer Medical School.
John also served on the steer
ing committee in founding the
Macon Volunteer Clinic, as well
as serving as a volunteer for ten
years at the clinic.
John loved traveling and
hunting in many countries, as
well as spending time in the
North Georgia mountains, but
his greatest joy was spend
ing time with his children and
grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife,
Bobbye; his three children,
Laura Carol Anderson Edwards,
John Lee Anderson, III, and
Nancy Marie Anderson Hon
eycutt (Russell); along with the
joy of his life - his six wonder
ful grandchildren that he lov
ingly referred to as his "Sun
beams", Ashley Anne Edwards,
John William (Sarah) Edwards,
III, Mary Grace Edwards,
Caroline Lee Anderson, Elea
nor Lee Anderson, and Anna
Katherine Honeycutt; his sister,
Carol Anderson Nimmons, Wat-
kinsville; and many nieces and
nephews.
John was preceded in death
by his sister, Jan Anderson
McGahee, of Roswell.
A memorial service will be
held Thursday, December 22, at
4 p.m., in the chapel at Hart's at
the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road,
Macon, Georgia 31210. The
Rev. Joe McDaniel will offici
ate. A private interment will be
held at Riverside Cemetery. The
family will greet friends follow
ing the service.

Born to the late Curtis and
Sybil Brooks Farmer, Hope was
a native of Jackson County.

Mr. Ginn was born in Jef
ferson, the

late Alfred
and Narcy
Turk Ginn.
He worked
for the Jack-
son County
Board of
Education
beginning
in 1968 and
retired as
the transportation supervisor in
2000. Prior to that, Mr. Ginn
worked for the Georgia Forestry
Commission for seven years.
Mr. Ginn was an avid sports
man who enjoyed hunting and
fishing, and was a member of
the Lebanon Methodist Church.
Mr. Ginn was a veteran of the
United States Army, serving in
the Vietnam War. He was pre
ceded in death by his brother,
James L. Ginn.
Survivors include his wife,
Jane Jones Whitmire, Maysville;
daughters, Krista G. Adkins,
Jefferson, Kathy Whitmire,
Maysville, and Tammy McKin
ney, Maysville; eight grandchil

George Hollomon
HULL - George Alton Hol
loman, 67, passed away Friday,
December 16, 2016.
Born February 22, 1949, he
was the youngest of eleven chil
dren of the late Harry E. Hol
loman and Ruby Gunter Hollo
man. In addition to his parents
he was preceded in death by
siblings William (Bud) Hollo
man, Helen H. Bailey and Ann
H. Chambers.
George was a native of
Oglethorpe County but lived
most of his adult life in Madison
County in the Neese-Sanford
Community. He retired with the
rank of Captain after over 29
years with the Athens-Clarke
County Fire Department. After
retirement, he became an active
member of the Neese-Sanford
Volunteer Fire Department.
George was an outdoorsman
who loved hunting and fishing.
He played softball for many
years and truly loved coaching
his daughters and their friends
through their softball careers.
He is survived by his wife of
44 years, Linda Kay (Nelms)
Holloman; daughters, Beth
Holloman and Adrienne (Alan)
Simmons as well as two beloved
grandchildren, Walker and Alii
Beth Simmons; Other survivors
include his siblings Francis
H. King, Walter Allen Hollo
man, Martha (George) Fortson,
Jimmy (Jan) Holloman, Har-
riette Holloman, John Cecil
(Grace) Holloman, and Bobby
(Sybil) Holloman as well as
brother-in-law Leonard (Bren

host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. King was born April 16,
1941, in Maysville, the son of

ington King. He was a mem

Mr. King was preceded in death

Word for all of her adult life.
She was dedicated to her family
and friends. She spent a great
deal of time serving the Carl
ton Baptist church community
and thanked God every day for
the many friends she had there.
Jackie loved singing, cooking,
swimming, crossword puzzles
and she was a fierce Euchre
player.
Survivors include her lov
ing husband Donald; her four
children and their spouses; 13
grandchildren; and three great
grandchildren.
A celebration of Jackie's life
will be held at a later date.
