Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Incidents
Public drunkeness, shoplifting
The following incidents
were reported recently to
the Barrow County Sheriffs
Office:
•theft by shoplifting
and public drunkenness at
Walmart, Winder, where a
man had reportedly taken
two cans of Bud Light
Mang-o-ritas with out pay
ing for the items.
•reckless conduct at a
Tallassee Road, Statham,
residence, where suspicious
activity was reported. A man
reported hearing gunshots
from the field across from
his house, and later in the
day finding a hole in the
ceiling, an indention on one
wall and a “small dimple” on
another wall.
•criminal trespass and
theft by taking at an Arnold
Road SE. Statham. resi
dence. A man reported he
came to property that he
has permission to hunt on
and found a male cutting
firewood and loading it on
a trailer. The complainant,
who said he had been given
permission by the property
owner to hunt on the prop
erty, stated he was there to
check his deer stands when
he found the man cutting
the firewood. The property
owner, when contacted by
phone, advised no one had
been given permission to cut
firewood on the property.
•criminal trespass and theft
by taking at a Huckleber
ry Lane, Winder, residence,
where a suspicious person
was reported. A woman
stated she was at home and
heard noises outside her
front door and later found
the exterior window screen
missing from a window.
•terroristic threats and
acts at an Etheridge Drive,
Auburn, residence, where a
woman reported her son’s
girlfriend had threatened
her. The complainant said
she was concerned about
the way her son's girlfriend
cares for her own children
and an argument ensued
between the two. She said
the girlfriend told her, “I’ll
stomp you in the ground if
you call DFCS on me and
my kids.”
•harassing phone calls
at Insurance Auto Auc
tion. Atlanta Highway SE,
Winder, where an employee
reported his “estranged girl
friend” was harassing him at
his work place.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Atlanta Highway
NW, Winder, where two
males had reportedly taken
items from the electronics
department, exited through
the pharmacy and garden
exits without paying for the
items.
•theft by shoplifting at
Target, Loganville High
way, Bethlehem, where a
male reportedly took several
Dyson vacuums and exited
the store without paying for
them.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where a
male entered the store, took a
bag of Jolly Ranchers candy,
opened it, and placed several
handfuls inside his pockets.
The complainant said once
the man placed the candy in
his pockets he hid the open
bag in the men’s clothing
department and left the store
without rendering payment
for the candy.
•financial transaction card
fraud at a Saddle Ridge
Court. Bethlehem, residence,
where a woman reported
that her debit card had been
fraudulently used for 18 pur
chases totaling $510.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where a
man attempted to take a 20V
Comokit valued at $97 with
out paying for the item.
•theft by shoplifting at
Target, Bethlehem, where
a female concealed several
clothing items in a Target
bag and attempted to exit
the store without paying for
the items.
•speeding and unlawful
use of a driver’s license on
University Parkway at Jack-
son Trail Road, Winder,
where a traffic stop was ini
tiated on the driver of a 2017
Hyundai Sonata who was
traveling 82 miles per hour
in a 65-mph speed zone.
•failure to register a vehi
cle on University Parkway
at Christmas Avenue, Beth
lehem. where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driver
of a 1998 Kia Sportage that
did not have a license plate
displayed.
•willful obstruction of law
enforcement officers, simple
assault - Family Violence
Act (FVA) and obstructing
or hindering persons mak

Drug possession, probation violation,
stalking among charges in county
The following arrests were reported
recently to the Barrow County Sheriffs
Office:
•Rigoberto Laureano-Nava, 22, 212
Daley Avenue. Winder, hit and run; duty
of the driver to stop at or return to the
scene of an accident, driving without
a valid driver’s license, improper lane
change/failure to maintain lane and driv
ing under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
•Ricky Joe Metcalf. 39, 137 Park Ave
nue, Winder, simple assault - Family
Violence Act (FVA), violation of a Family
Violence Order and probation violation.
•Tamara Debray Johnson, 29, 34 Quail
Court, Winder, criminal damage to prop
erty, simple battery - FVA and aggravated
assault.
•Anthony Jamaine Jackson, 34. 231
Graham Street, Winder, destroying,
removing, concealing, encumbering,
transferring deal with property subject to
security interest.
•Lamont Detor Jackson, 41. 467 Smith
Mill Road. Winder, destroy/remove/con-
ceal/encumber/transfer/deal with property
subject to security interest.

residence, where a man was
refusing to leave the resi
dence after being asked to do
so. The female complainant
stated the man had alleged
ly used methamphetamine
and was “swinging around
a pipe.”
•abandoned vehicle on
Etheridge Drive at Kilcrease
Road, Auburn, where a 1983
Ford F-350 truck was locat
ed on the shoulder of the
road.
•outstanding arrest war
rant, speeding, no insurance
and open container violation
on Old Victron School Road
at Highway 124, Hoschton,
where a traffic stop was
initiated on the driver of a
2016 Dodge Ram 1500 truck
who was traveling 60 miles
per hour in a 45-mph speed
zone.
•theft by taking at a Wall
Road, Statham, residence,
where a woman reported,
while she had been incar
cerated since Nov. 27, 2016,
someone took documents
from her bedroom and her
1994 Dodge Dakota truck
had also been taken.
•criminal trespass at
Walmart, Atlanta Highway
NW. Winder, where a distur
bance was reported. The store
manager advised the female
causing the disturbance used
to work at Walmart and was
fired. The manager stated
every time the female comes
to the store she had disputes
with employees, gets loud
and creates a disturbance.
•battery at a Brown Bridge
Road, Auburn, residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported between a
woman and her boyfriend.
•abandoned vehicle on
Bill Rutledge Road at Whis
pering Way SW, Winder,
where a 1992 Ford Ranger
truck, with extensive damage
from a collision with a tree,
was found abandoned.
•theft by conversion and
forgery at a Hickeria Way,
Winder, residence, where
a woman reported another
female had sold her 2004
Hyundai XG350 to a junk
yard by forging her signature
on the title.
•hit and run: duty of the
driver to stop at or return to
the scene of an accident at
Carvana, Pierce Road, Wind
er. The manager reported a
man was test driving a 2014
GMC Terrain when the driv
er of a 1998 Dodge Dakota
truck shuck him in the rear
as he was attempting to turn
into the Carvana facility. The
driver of the Dodge truck
fled the scene of the acci
dent.
•harassing phone calls
at a Custom Lane, Winder,
residence, where a female
reported her ex-boyfriend
had been continuously call
ing, texting, emailing and
messaging her.
•driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of alcohol,
open container violation
and improper lane change/
failure to maintain lane on
Highway 211 NW at Hun
tington Trace, Winder, where
the driver of a 2004 Toyota
Corolla had run into a ditch.
•speeding, driving while
unlicensed and permitting an
unlicensed person to drive
on University Parkway at
Hog Mountain Road, Wind
er, where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of
a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500
truck who was traveling 82
miles per hour in a 65-mph
speed zone.
•criminal trespass and
willful obstruction of law
enforcement officers at a
Gladiola Drive, Auburn, resi
dence, where a domestic dis
pute was reported between a
woman and her daughter.
•entering an automobile or
other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or
other felony and theft by tak
ing at Carl BP, Adanta High
way NW, Auburn, where a
man reported someone broke
into his 2000 Chevrolet
Astro van and stole a cross
bow, valued at $800.
•domestic dispute at a Trey
Lane, Winder, residence,
between a woman and her
daughter.
•theft by taking at a
Chandler Road, Auburn,
residence, where a woman
reported the theft of a $4,300
diamond ring. She said she
had already retrieved the
ring, but wanted a report
filed on the incident.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Atlanta Highway
NW, Winder, where a man
and his wife had reportedly
taken $372 in items without
paying.
