lingsworth Community, passed
away on Tuesday, February 14,
2017.
Mrs. Caudell was born on
January 23, 1938, in Banks
County, the daughter of the late
Rogers and Lucille Nunnally
Wilkinson. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Clif
ton Caudell; son, Hugh Clif
ton Caudell; and aunt, Mozelle
Carlan. Lessie was a member
of Charity Baptist Church and
a homemaker.
Survivors include her
daughter, Terri Caudell Cheek;
and sister, Myrna Wilkinson,
both of Baldwin.

Friday, February 17, at Whit

win, with the Revs. J. Frank

Born in Alto, Ga. on
December 24, 1921, she
was the daughter of the late
Clyde Masters and Maude
Roberts Masters Dodd. Mrs.
Dodd was a homemaker and
attended Yonah Congrega
tional Holiness Church. She
enjoyed playing the guitar and
the piano and shared her tal
ent with numerous churches
through the years. Mrs. Dodd
was a loving mother, grand
mother, great-grandmother,
and great-great-grandmother.
She will be missed by all who
knew her and loved her. Mrs.
Dodd was preceded in death
by her husband, Lonzo Dodd;
son, Charles Dodd; one grand
daughter; two grandsons; a
brother, Vernon Masters; and
sisters, Josie Lou McEntire,
Geraldine King and Avis Wat
kins.

one brother. Mrs. Hilley was of
the Baptist denomination.

rounded by his loving family.
Harold was born in Murphy,
N.C. on

Daddy”
and Ven-
nie “Judy's
Mama”
(McNabb)
Ledford.
Harold served as Pastor for
Macedonia Baptist Church
for 30 years as of this Feb
ruary, but his work extend
ed far beyond the walls of
Macedonia. He was lovingly
known in the community as
“Preacher Ledford” and often
referred to as the community
pastor. He was a man of his
word, often selflessly serving
others in their time of need.
Preacher Ledford served as a
Trustee at the Georgia Baptist
Children’s Home and was on
the Executive Board for the
Georgia Baptist Convention.
He has driven a school bus for
Towns County for 30 years.
In previous years, he was a
volunteer firefighter in Haber
sham County. While Preacher
Ledford was well known for
his kind heart and willingness
to help the people of Towns
County and surrounding areas,
he took great pride in being a
devoted husband, father and
grandfather. He loved his fam
ily and was enthusiastically
involved in his grandchildren’s
life, attending and supporting
their athletic and artistic activi
ties. He was preceded in death
by sisters, Eulene Lanning and
Elva Dean Gunn.
Survivors include his loving
wife, Viola Stewart Ledford;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Lora Ann and Tim McClure,
Catawba, Va. and Dodie Lynn
and Rodney Thomas, Baldwin,

Mr. Maney was born on May

Clay was a United States
Army Veteran having proudly
served his country. He was
a retired employee of Atlanta
Gas Light Company with 28
years of service and was also a
retired poultry and beef farmer.
Mr. Maney has been a member
of Harmony Baptist Church
since 1946, a total of 71 years.
He was also a deacon at his
church.
Survivors include his daugh

Ron Hawkins, Cornelia; son
and daughter-in-law, Mark and
Jennifer Maney, Clermont; sis

Millicent loved to travel and
was blessed to see a lot of the
world, both internationally and
stateside. Her flower gardens
were her delight and her family
was a very important aspect of
her life. All through the years
of her declining health, she
stayed upbeat, always smiling,
ready to encourage others, very
seldom mentioning any pain
she was experiencing. Her sis
ters, Lanelle and Martha, along
with their husbands, got to be
a part of some of her travels.
They will never forget all the
fun and loving companionship
they enjoyed with Millicent
and Mac on these trips.
She loved the Lord and that
love shone out brightly.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8
p.m. Wednesday, February 22,
at Little-Ward Funeral Home
in Commerce. The funeral will
be 11 a.m. Thursday, February
23, from the chapel of Little-
Ward Funeral Home with Pas
tors Eugene Head and Wendell

Vernon was born in Oconee
County, Ga., on June 7, 1929.
He served his country as a
sergeant in the United States
Army from 1950-1953, and
afterwards attended the Uni
versity of Georgia, where
he graduated in 1961 with a
degree in business. He worked
for Plantation Pipeline for
many years, then operated as
a residential and commercial
building contractor in the Ath
ens area, and retired from the
US Navy Supply Corps School
in 1998.
In his retirement years, he
loved life as a cattleman on
his farm in Madison County,
before moving with his wife
to Glen Allen, Va. in 2014.
Vernon had a strong faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ and served
as a deacon and Sunday school
teacher for many years at both
Calvary Baptist Church and
Joy Baptist Church in Athens.
Funeral services were held
in the Bernstein Chapel Sun
day, February 19. Interment
was at Evergreen Cemetery in
Athens.

A native of Walton County,
he graduated from MACHS in
1985 and from Abraham Bald
win Agricultural College in
1987. He earned his Agricul
tural Engineering Degree from
the University of Georgia in
1989 and began his profession
al career at Andrews, Ham
mock, and Powell in Macon
and then on to Fouts Plumbing.
He then worked for Hightower
Consulting Engineering Firm
in Social Circle. He co-owned
Logos Construction Company
and joined Technicon Engi
neering Firm in Macon, Geor
gia, where he was a project
manager. His role and focus
changed and developed over
the years to include electri
cal and industrial engineering,
designing and problem solv
ing for various companies. He
was a contract project manager
with the Georgia Army Nation
al Guard and was invited to
deploy to Afghanistan for one
year as part of an Agricultural
Development Team to assist in
rebuilding the country’s agri
cultural system.
He returned home to Techni-
con/Clark Nexsen as a project
manager specializing in Indus
trial Engineering for process
ing companies. He recently
earned his Professional Engi
neering stamp in Mechanical
Engineering and as an inno
vative thinker, he recently
developed a new/unique pro
cess for eye wash stations in
industrial plants. This process
is scheduled to be included in
engineering professional pub
lications and named the Ewing
Effect in his honor.
Shannon was a dedicated
Christian accepting Christ as
a teenager and was involved
in many areas of ministry. He
was a part of Campus Crusade
for Christ on UGA’s campus,
was a youth leader in several
churches and was a mentor and
spiritual father to many who
crossed his path. He enjoyed
many pastimes including build
ing anything, mechanics, rid
ing motorcycles, cooking and
eating and mostly family and
visiting with people. He was
a very supportive husband and
father and was involved in all
that his children did including
being a dance Dad, karate Dad,
cheer Dad, pageant Dad and
dragon con Dad. He is loved
and will be greatly missed by
all who knew him.

Home in Winder.

p.m. at Summit Baptist Church
in Loganville, Ga.
