The Missions Commit
tee is planning an exciting
event in the life of Wind
er First United Method
ist Church ... and a free
lunch.
“On Sunday, March
19, we will be having a
church-wide Mission
Expo,” said Janet Segars.
“This event will have
many representatives
from various ministries on
display in the Fellowship
Hall. These agencies will
have information about
their ministry, their needs
and ways for us to become
involved in service.”
The displays will be set
up and ready early for
everyone to visit during
coffee time and again fol
lowing the 11 a.m. wor
ship services. At 12:15
p.m., everyone is invited
to the fellowship hall to
enjoy lunch - free - to
visit the displays and to
hear a brief description of
these agencies and their
wonderful work.

to find ways to serve as
followers of Christ!” said
Segars.

Methodist Church offers
a Parents Morning Out
program on Wednesdays,
from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.
Parents Morning Out
is a weekly program that
provides childcare for
children six months old
through pre-school age.
The cost is $10 per child
(sibling discount). Par
ticipants will pay by the
month.

Room 131 in the Pasley
Family Life Center at the

nor of the Loyal Order of Moose, will speak at

Moose Lodge No. 262,434 Highway 211NW,
as part of his travels across the state.
Griswold rose from the post of Supreme Jr.
Governor to become the Moose Fraternity’s
Chief Presiding Officer on July 5, elected
by a vote of Supreme Lodge delegates to a
one-year term as Supreme Governor of the
organization’s 128th International Convention
in St. Louis. Mo.
The Moose organization, headquartered at
Mooseheart, III, consists of nearly 1 million
men and women in approximately 1,600 lodg
es and 1,400 chapters throughout the United
States, Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda.
The organization owns and operates
Mooseheart. a 1,000-acre community and
school for youngsters in need, located 40 miles
west of Chicago; and a 75-acre retirement
community near Jacksonville, Fla. Addition
ally, Moose lodges and chapters conduct more
than $90 million worth of community service
annually (county monetary donations, miles
driven and volunteer hours worked).
Such community service can be tailored to
local needs, but also take the form of organi
zation-wide programs. One of these programs
includes Tommy Moose, where lodges and
chapters have provided nearly 200.000 plus
Moose figures since 2003, free of charge to
emergency workers and hospitals to give chil
dren in stressful situations. Also, the Moose
Youth Awareness Program annually brings
together hundreds of bright teenagers for Youth
Congresses to discuss the most effective way to
conduct “Kids Talks,” communicating positive
life choice messages to very young children,
ages 4-9. Moose-trained teens have given Kids
Talks to more than 700,000 youngsters across
North America since 1990.
