Highway 211 NW at Mears
Street. Winder, where an
auto crash was reported.
A bystander said the male
driver of an uninvolved
vehicle had been causing
a scene. The male report
edly began yelling at the
responding officer, with
out provocation, and in
the presence of two chil
dren with their mother.
The officer stated the male
refused to stop yelling and
get out of his vehicle when
instructed to do so and he
also refused to hand over
his driver’s license.

residence, where a woman
reported 14 boxes of hard
wood flooring, valued at
$630, was stolen from the
front porch of her resi

and found the back door
of the residence has been
broken open. She said noth
ing appeared to have been

valid license, improper lane

lane, failure to yield to an
emergency vehicle and
open container violation
on University Parkway at
Kilcrease Road. Auburn,
where the driver of a 2004
Lincoln Navigator was
stopped for speeding.

where a man reported the

a man reported someone
had broken into his home

dence. A woman reported
she arrived at her residence
and heard the alarm going
off inside. No one was
found inside the residence.
The female complainant
said about three weeks ago
her brother asked to borrow
her lawn mower trailer and
she told him no. She stated
a few days later her brother
took the trailer and later
informed her it was broken
and was sitting at a business
in Norcross.

CITY OF WINDER
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
PROJECT
CDBG #14p-x-007-2-5709
The City of Winder has completed its FY 2014 CDBG project, CDBG #14p-x-
007-2-5709. The following activities were completed:
The City renovated areas within the former Winder-Barrow Middle School
building to accommodate the Winder-Barrow Boys and Girls Club and the
non-profit organization, ACTION, Inc. A total of 540 residents are being
served by this project, with 92% being low to moderate income.
Notice is being given that a Public Hearing will be held on August 23,2017 at
12:00 PM at the City Hall Second Floor Conference Room, 25 East Midland
Avenue, Winder, GA 30680. The purpose of the hearing is to inform citizens
of the availability of the final quarterly report, to review project
accomplishments, final Section 3 Report and to receive citizen comments. All
citizens are invited to attend this hearing to discuss the project.
Persons with special needs relating to handicapped accessibility or foreign
language should contact Ms. Leslie Henderson at 770-867-3106 prior to
August 23, 2017. She can be located at Winder City Hall, 25 East Midland

Meet Dr. Walpert
Dr. Walpert is a fellow of the American Association of Neurosurgery
and a member of the Neurosurgical Society of America. She holds
an appointment to the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards
and is an assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at the University
of Georgia Health Sciences Campus. She has a special interest in
minimally invasive, microscopic treatment of spine disorders, head
injury and radiosurgery and image-guidance in surgery for brain tumors.
