on Friday, March 23, 2018.
Mr. Barden was born in

was a retired

(UPS) with 36
years of ser
vice. He was a
member of the
Galilee Chris
tian Church in Jefferson and
a veteran of the United States
Army, serving in the Vietnam
War. If Steve could say “yes” to
helping another, he always did.
There is no telling how many of
God’s children that Steve served
along his journey. Mr. Barden
was preceded in death by his
brother, Alan Barden.
Survivors include his wife,
Nancy Barden, Hoschton:
daughters, Miki Cooper and her
husband Chip, Clinton, South
Carolina, and Melanie Williams
and her husband Jeff, Hull: six
adoring grandchildren, Avery,
Cade, Hollis and Hayes Wil
liams, Ella and Lois Cooper;
five brothers; and two sisters.

on Sunday, March 25, at Galilee
Christian Church with Ministers
Nick Vipperman and Tom Plank
officiating. Gentlemen honored

liams, Hayes Williams, Chip
Cooper and Jeff Williams.

Sauls Hall. A former resident
of Winder, she relocated here in
2013 from Olathe, Kan. and was
a homemaker.

Williamson, 83, died Tuesday,
March 20, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Williamson was born in
Jefferson, the son of the late
Gladys Gloson Mauldin. He
was retired from Roper Pump.
Mr. Williamson was preceded
in death by his brothers, Francis
Williamson and John Mauldin.

Johnson Costa, 66, passed away
unexpectedly Saturday, March
24, 2018.
Mary was born June 1, 1951,
in Athens, Ga., the daughter of
the late James Maryland John
son Sr., and Pauline Gabriel
Johnson. She was preceded in
death by her brother, James M.
Johnson Jr., and Virginia John
son Russell.
Survivors include a son, Mat
thew Costa, Colbert; daugh
ter, Dina Costa Treff; daugh-
ter-in-law, Lori Treff, Bishop;
and three grandchildren, Jack,
Robert, and Garrett Maerz; sis
ters, Rachel Coker (Randolph),
Comer, Ann Brooks (Ray),
Danielsville, Linda Hunnius
(Jim Walls), Richmond, Va.,
and Carol Allen (Bob), Colbert;
brother-in-law Huerlan Russell:
and many nieces and nephews.
Her former father-in-law, Ralph
Costa Sr., held a very special
place in her heart.
Mary was a strong woman
who loved her family more than
words can express. She was
always so giving and willing
to help others. She was retired
from a long career of work
ing in child care centers in the
Athens area, most recently at
Miracle Years of Learning in
Colbert, Ga. She also spent sev
eral years at Oglethorpe Avenue
Elementary in Athens. Mary
resided in Springhill Homes
in Colbert, where she enjoyed
being an active part of the com
munity and spending time with
her neighbors.
Visitation will be held Friday,
March 30, from 6 to 8 p.m.
at Lord and Stephens Funeral
Home in Danielsville.
Flowers are accepted, but
please refrain from sending cem
etery arrangements as there will
be no burial at this time.

December 10, 1991, she was

She enjoyed writing poems,
music, camping, and spending
time with her family, especially
her children. Mrs. Wright was
a homemaker and of the Baptist
denomination. She was preceded
in death by her grandmother,
Beverly Paige Wright.

stress and attended Bethlehem
First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded
in death by her husband, Watson
Thompson; and a sister, Mad
eline Sims.

sons, Derrell Thompson and
Randy (Donna) Thompson, both
of Bethlehem; two grandchil
dren, Kyle (Jessica) Thompson
and Lance (Tara) Thompson;
