31 vehicles broken into
around Winder, Bethlehem
A number of entering automobile
calls were recently reported to the Bar-
row County Sheriff's Office.
Officers responded to calls on
Chartwell Court, Winder; Silvergate
Way, Winder; Dillard Court, Bethle
hem; Fletcher Drive, Winder; Sedge-
field Trail, Bethlehem; Madison Drive,
Bethlehem; Cypress Place, Winder
and Dillard Fleights Drive, Bethlehem.
A total of 31 vehicles had been entered
at these locations.
Items taken included a knife, money,
computer, iPad, firearms, tablet, tools,
purses/wallets, jewelry, Nintendo
Game Boy 3DS. Nintendo Game Boy
games and a taser.

Other recent incidents reported to
the BCSO include:
•theft by taking at a Howard-Coo-
per Road, Winder, residence, where
a woman reported someone stole her
Weed Eater brand push lawn mower
from the back of her father’s residence.
•outstanding arrest warrants, posses
sion of methamphetamine. possession
and use of drug-related objects and
possession of a Schedule IV Con
trolled Substance at a Burson Maddox
Road, Winder, residence, where a man
reported a female was trying to bum
his house down and she possibly had
a knife.
•criminal damage to property
at Walmart, Atlanta Highway NW,
Winder, where a man reported some
one had damaged his 2002 Pontiac
Firebird/Trans Am while he was inside
the store.
•driving under the influence (DUI)
of drags on East Midland Avenue,
Winder, where a traffic stop was con
ducted on the driver of a 2016 Nissan
Versa for failure to maintain lane.
•disorderly conduct at Shuffles Bar,
Atlanta Highway NW, Winder, where
a fight was reported involving several
males.
•theft by taking - motor vehicle at
a Highway 82, Statham, residence,
where a man reported his 2006 Suzuki
GSX-R600 motorcycle had been taken
from his residence.
•possession of marijuana at a Dog
wood Trail. Winder, residence, where
officers were requested to assist Bar-
row County Fire and Rescue person
nel.
•theft by shoplifting at Walmart,
Atlanta Highway NW, Winder, where
a female and her juvenile daughter had
selected store merchandise, concealed
the items in their purses and passed all
points of sale in an attempt to exit the
store without paying.
•possession of methamphetamine
and headlight requirements violation
on Broad Street, Statham. where a traf
fic stop was conducted on the driver of
a 2005 Mazda 3 due to an inoperable
driver's side headlight.
•possession of methamphetamine
and possession and use of drug-related
objects at an Oakdale Drive, Auburn,
residence, where suspicious activity
was reported.
•theft by taking - motor vehicle at
a Gainesville Highway, Winder, resi
dence, where a man reported his 1998
40-foot American Eagle Mobile Home
had been stolen.
•criminal trespass at an Oakdale
Drive, Auburn, residence, where a
woman reported her shed had been
broken into.
•criminal trespass at Walmart,
Atlanta Highway NW, Winder, where
a woman reported her 2016 Chevrolet
Impala had keen “keyed” while she
was inside the store.
•possession of methamphetamine,
possession of a Schedule II Controlled
Substance, drugs not kept in origi
nal container, probation violation and
carrying a concealed weapon at a 2nd
Street, Statham, residence, where a
warrant was being served.
•hit and ran; duty of the driver
to stop at or return to the scene of
an accident at Applebee’s. Loganville
Highway at Carl-Bethlehem Road,
Bethlehem, where the driver of a 2017
Dodge Durango reported her vehicle
was rear-ended by another driver that
didn’t stop.
•possession of methamphetamine
and outstanding arrest warrant on
King Avenue at West Star Street,
Bethlehem, where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of a 2002
Ford Ranger track.
•theft by shoplifting at Target,
Loganville Highway, Bethlehem,
where a man had reportedly taken a
Fitbit band and Fitbit watch, all valued
at $230. without paying.
•criminal trespass at a Bowman
Mill Road SE. Winder, residence,
where a suspicious person was report
ed. The complainant stated he was
standing next to the road talking to
a neighbor when the driver of a Jeep
Cherokee almost hit him. He said the
Jeep was originally heading south, but
the driver turned around and when
he got in front of the complainant’s
residence he began “yelling obscene
language” and said he would be back
in 10 minutes. The complainant said a
few minutes later the vehicle returned,
stopped in his driveway, the driver
opened his door and began throwing
trash, including a glass bottle that
broke, in his driveway before heading
south again.
•theft of lost or mislaid property
at the Exxon on Christmas Avenue,
Bethlehem, where a man reported his
wallet missing.

Two dogs reported stolen from Winder residence
The following incidents were
recently reported to the Winder
Police Department:
•theft by taking at an Ash-
wood Drive residence, where a
woman reported someone had
stolen two puppies - a German
shepherd and a Husky - from a
pen at the side of her residence.
•possession of marijuana and
tag light requirements violation
on North Jackson Street, where
a traffic stop was conducted on
the driver of a 2005 Hyundai
Tucson due to an inoperable tag
light.
•fraud reported to the Winder
Police Department. East Mid
land Avenue. A Winder man said
he had been receiving calls from
an unknown number in Waco,
Texas, from someone claiming
to be from the Social Security
Office. The man was threatened
with deportation, even though he
is a U.S. citizen, and also incar
ceration. The caller inquired
about his bank accounts, credit
cards, vehicles owned; and was
able to tell him the kind of vehi
cle he drove and where he lived.
•drug investigation at North
east Georgia Medical Center
Barrow, North Broad Street,
where hospital security found
marijuana on a person within
the hospital.
•terroristic threats at a Wood
Avenue residence, where a
woman reported a man was
pointing a gun at her and was
threatening to kill her. A second
investigation was made at the
residence where officers found
deplorable conditions making
the residence unfit for human
use.
•burglary at Title Max, West
May Street, where the store
manager reported a $2,300 bank
deposit had been stolen from
a cabinet inside the store. Pry
marks were found on the back
door.
•outstanding arrest warrant
on Atlanta Highway SE, where
a traffic stop was conducted
on the driver of a 1994 Toyo
ta T100 truck. The 33-year-old
driver was taken into custody
on a Barrow County Sheriff's
Office warrant for public inde
cency.
•public drunkenness on West
May Street, where an uncon
scious man was reportedly
“lying in the roadway at the
intersection” of West May Street
and South Beulah Street.
•window tint violation and
driving under the influence
(DUI) of drugs on West Athens
Street, where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of a
2006 Honda Accord.
•aggravated assault and crim
inal trespass - Family Violence
Act (FVA) at a West New Street
residence, where a domestic dis
pute was reported between a
woman and her boyfriend.
•battery - FVA at a Third Ave
nue residence, where a domestic
dispute was reported between a
woman and her husband.
•entering an automobile or
other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or other
felony and theft by taking -
motor vehicle at a Sutherland
Drive residence, where a man
reported someone had entered
his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado
truck and items had been thrown
around inside. He said a card
case containing his driver’s
license. Social Security Card,
debit card, and pictures of his
son had been taken.
•theft by taking at a Saint
Anthony Drive residence, where
a man reported a campaign sign
had been taken from his front
yard.
•two vehicle accidents on
Sentry Court, where the driver
of a 1992 Mazda MX3 stated he
backed out of his driveway and
struck a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice
parked on the street.
•hit and run; duty of the driv
er to stop at or return to the
scene of an accident at Beall’s
Outlet, Monroe Highway, where
the driver of a 2007 Ford 500
reported the driver of another
vehicle, possibly a Nissan Max
ima, backed out of a handicap
parking space and struck her
vehicle before speeding away
from the scene.
•theft by taking - motor vehi
cle at Northeast Georgia Medi
cal Center Barrow, North Broad
Street, where a woman reported
her 2001 Lincoln LS had been
stolen from the hospital parking
lot.
•DUI - alcohol, consumption/
open container of alcohol in
the passenger area of a vehi
cle, improper standing/parking
within 30-feet upon approach of
a stop/yield/traffic control sign
and driving without a license on
person on North Broad Street,
where a traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 2014 Dodge
Avenger.
•duty upon striking an unat
tended vehicle on Osborne
Street, where the driver of a
2006 Ford F-150 truck had
reportedly struck a parked 2002
Chevrolet Cavalier and then left
the scene.
•aggravated assault at a Mar
ion Lay Street residence, where
a domestic dispute was reported
between a woman and her boy
friend.
•theft by taking at BB&T
Bank, South Broad Street,
where a woman reported she
accidentally left her debit card
in the Automatic Teller Machine
(ATM) and when she returned to
get it the card was gone.
•theft by taking at the Winder
PD. East Midland Avenue. A
Monroe woman reported that
her wedding bands had been
stolen while she was at resi
dence on Georgia Avenue in
Winder.
•public drunkenness and dis
orderly conduct at a Second
Street residence, where a fight
was reported between two men.
•reckless driving, failure to
yield to an emergency vehicle,
operating an unregistered vehi-
cle/new resident has 30 days
to register a vehicle, headlight
requirements violation, improp
er lane change/failure to main
tain lane and failure to obey a
stop sign or yield after stopping
on East Wright Street, where a
traffic stop was conducted on
the driver of a 2008 Yamaha
4-wheeler All-Terrain Vehicle
(ATV).
•recovered stolen property at
Diversity Insurance, East May
Street, where a 2012 Ford F-350
Econoline van, reported sto
len out of Yorkville. N.Y.. was
located in the parking lot.
•entering an automobile or
other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or other
felony and party to a crime
at a Saunders Drive residence,
where a man reported his adopt
ed sister had paid a man to break
into his vehicle and steal the
title to a 2003 Ford F-150 truck.
The complainant said his hand
held blower was also taken out
of his 2001 Dodge Ram 1500
truck.
•possession of marijuana and
failure to obey a stop or yield
sign after stopping on Mossy
Trace, where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of a
2000 Mercedes-Benz S430V.
•DUI - alcohol, tag light

on Duke Street, where a traffic
stop was initiated on the driver
of a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

where a traffic stop was con

where a woman reported she
observed the driver of a Dodge
Charger reverse out of a parking
spot and strike her parked 2012
Toyota Tacoma truck and then
leave the scene.

on South Broad Street, where a
woman reported the theft of her
wallet.
•theft by taking at Check Into
Cash Title Pawn, East May
Street, where a woman reported
she dropped off a cash payment
of $184 that has never been
credited to her account. She
said she put the money in an
envelope and slid it under the
business’ door, but no one at the
business claims to have received
it.
