United States Navy, serving in
the Korean War. Mr. Hadden
was preceded in death by his
first wife, Caroline Joyce Had
den; and his infant daughter,
Rhonda Lori Hadden.
Survivors include his wife,

Frances Holcomb
HULL - Frances Lorene Hol
comb, 70, died April 22, 2018,
at Piedmont Regional Hospital.
She was born on April 27,
1947, in Bainbridge, Md., the
daughter of William Dewitt Hol
comb and Amy Lorene (Taylor)
Holcomb. She grew up in Ath
ens, Ga.. and graduated from
Athens High School in 1966.
Frances was united in marriage
to Neil Elbe in September 1966.
They were divorced in 1968. In
1977, she married John Fuller
and remained in that relation
ship until 1986.
Frances was employed by
several area businesses, includ
ing General Electric, Dairy
Pack, and the
Atlanta Gas
Light Com
pany. During
her tenure
with the gas
company as
a Customer
Service Rep
resentative,
she received
numerous
awards for
outstanding interactions with
clients. Her most rewarding job
was with the Clarke County
School District as a parapro-
fessional. She influenced and
enriched the lives of many spe
cial needs high school students
by mentoring them as a job
coach in a variety of local work
places. Frances retired from the
school district in May 2009. She
was a member of Hull Baptist
Church, the Hull Civic Club,
and the Elijah Clarke Chapter.

Frances was devoted to her
family and friends, especially to
those who needed her support,
encouragement, and uncondi
tional love. She was preceded
in death by her parents. 17 aunts
and uncles and 23 first cousins.
Survivors include sisters.

well, Ga., Carol Ann Holcomb,
Manhattan, Kan.; paternal aunt,
Annis L. Herring, Athens, Ga.;
maternal uncle, Talley Taylor,
Leesburg. Fla.; John Dean, her
close friend of more than thirty
years; and many beloved cous
ins, nieces, and nephews in vari
ous states of the United States.
Visitation for family, friends,
and neighbors will be held at
Lord and Stephens, EAST, on
April 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. A
graveside service officiated
by the Rev. David Cloud will
take place at Evergreen Memo
rial Park Cemetery in Athens on
April 28, at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Ragsdale was born on
October 21, 1921, in Banks
County, the son of the late Thom
as E. and Ola Brawner Rags
dale. He was preceded in death
by his brother, Roy Ragsdale.

He was a 1959 graduate of the
University of Houston in Texas
where he obtained his Bach
elor’s Degree in Business. He
then went on to receive his law
degree from Woodrow Wilson
College of Law in 1975. Mr.
Ragsdale was a retired accoun
tant and auditor with the Public
Service Commission. He was a
member of Homer United Meth
odist Church and the American
Legion Post in Homer.
Survivors include his sister,
Marie R. Creel of Doraville;
brother. Theron Ragsdale of
Oakridge, Tenn.; and several
nieces and nephews.

United Methodist Church with

of Winder, Ga. Mrs. Thompson
was preceded in death by broth
ers, Cecil, Claybom, Clayton,
Clarence and Lynn Thompson;
and sisters, Myrtie Cheek and
Minnie Lee Butler.
