Two arrested
on multiple drug
charges in Braselton
Two people were recently arrested on a multitude of
drug-related charges.
Braselton Police Department officers arrested Christo
pher Ross Hollifield, 27, 4352 Star Point Rd., Byrdstown,
Tenn., and Lanie Elizabeth Eads, 26, 98 Sutton Cir. 110,
Rainbow City, Ala., on four counts of purchase/possession/
have under control a controlled substance (one charge was
for a hallucinogen); drugs not in original container; posses
sion of marijuana less than an ounce; and possession/use of
a drug-related object. Hollifield faces an additional charge
of failure to maintain lane.
Officers stopped the two for failing to maintain lane and
they smelled marijuana inside the vehicle.
They confirmed they had the substance, but denied hav
ing any other illegal items.
Officers found the marijuana, along with 10 tabs of LSD,
hash, three Alprazolam pills and Molly (ecstasy).
Hollifield said they were taking the drugs to a festival in
North Carolina.
TWO CHARGED FOR
INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE
In another incident, BPD officers arrested two Braselton
residents for intent to distribute.
Jesse Lee Mauldin. 24, and Jami Marengo. 26. both of
719 Sienna Valley Dr., Braselton, face charges of posses
sion with intent to distribute a controlled substance and sale
of marijuana. Marengo faces another charge of crossing a
guard-line with drugs.
The two were stopped for a windshield violation and
failing to maintain lane.
Officers smelled marijuana. Marengo denied having the
substance, but Mauldin reportedly tensed up when officers
confronted him. They found methamphetamine and mari
juana in his sock.
Both eventually confirmed they were trying to sell the
drugs because “they don’t have any money.”
Marengo also reportedly hid methamphetamine in her
bra. It was discovered at the jail.
A family member was called to the traffic stop scene to
pick up a juvenile child. The Department of Family and
Children Services was called.
OTHER ARRESTS
Other recent arrests made by the BPD were:
•Dustin ‘Duck’ Harkins, 26,236 Zion Church Rd.. Bra
selton — possession of methamphetamine; possession of
a controlled substance; drags not in original container; and
giving false identity information to a police officer. Harkins
and two other men were stopped for a seatbelt violation.
Harkins reportedly gave officers a fake name, but his real
name was written on a box placed beside him. He had a
warrant out of Jackson County. Officers found pills and
suspected methamphetamine in a cigarette pack near Har
kins. They also found two glass pipes in the vehicle with
marijuana and methamphetamine residue. One passenger
was cited, while Harkins was arrested.
•Zackery Gordon Adams, 24, 907 Park PL, Loganville
— possession of methamphetamine; registration/license
violation; expired driver’s license; no insurance; and pos
session of marijuana less than an ounce. Adams was
stopped for a tag violation. Officers said he was sweating
“profusely” and crying. He didn’t have a license on him, but
officers confirmed he had a warrant by running his informa
tion. He told officers he had marijuana in the vehicle and a
grinder. Officers found the items, along with a crystal-like
substance.
•William Joiner Dooley, 27, 1626 Davenport Rd., Bra
selton — wanted person. Officers stopped Dooley and a
woman who were walking along Hwy. 53 in the middle of
the night. They searched Dooley, but didn’t find anything.
Dooley was arrested after officers learned he had a warrant.
•Matthew Corey Jones, 28, 418 Blueberry Ct., Winder
— wanted person. Jones was stopped after officers learned
he had a warrant by running his tag.

attempts to scam man over the phone by
threatening arrest over missed jury duty
The following incidents were
recently reported to the Winder
Police Department:
•impersonating a public officer or
employee and criminal attempt to
commit a misdemeanor at Winder
Dental Care, Atlanta Highway SE,
where the owner reported a call was
made to his business requesting to
speak with him about a bench war
rant for his arrest because he missed
jury duty. The complainant said the
man on the phone identified himself
as a Barrow County Sheriff’s Office
deputy. The complainant stated the
man advised him to bring a $900
money order to the BCSO office to
bypass his arrest. He said when he
went to the bank to obtain the money
order, a bank employee convinced
him that this was probably a fraud.
He said he chose not to obtain the
money order and visited the BCSO to
check on this issue and was informed
he did not have any active warrants.

revoked license, possession of mari
juana, possession and use of drug-re
lated objects, brake lights require
ments violation and outstanding
arrest warrant on Exchange Boule
vard, Bethlehem, where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driver of a
2011 Ford F-150 truck.
•terroristic threats and acts and
public drunkenness at a Northcrest
Drive residence, where a man. armed
with a screwdriver, was reportedly
threatening other individuals at the
residence.
•battery - Family Violence Act
(FVA) and cruelty to children at
an Olevia Street residence, where a
domestic disturbance was reported
between a woman and her husband.
•theft by taking at Goodwill, East
May Street, where a woman reported
her iPhone 6 had been taken while
she was in the store shopping.
•public drunkenness at Cookout,
West May Street, where two men
were reportedly intoxicated and hav
ing trouble standing.
•forgery of a financial card on
North Broad Street, where a woman
reported her bank debit card had been
used in an unauthorized transaction
at the ATM at Bank of America.
•suspicious person at Sanders Fur
niture. West Athens Street, where
a passerby had stopped to help a
36-year-old male who was “lying
face down at the bottom of the hill
by the paved parking lot in the grassy
area.”
•driving without a valid license
at Victor Lord Park, Second Street,
where a suspicious vehicle was
reported.
•Temporary Protection Order
(TPO) violation at a North Broad
Street location, where a woman
reported her ex-boyfriend, who has
a TPO against her, and his new girl
friend came to her place of employ
ment.
•theft by taking and entering an
automobile or other motor vehicle
with the intent to commit a theft or
other felony at a North Fifth Avenue
residence, where a woman report
ed her wallet and its contents were
missing from inside her 2007 Ford
Fusion.
•theft by shoplifting at Quality
Foods, North Broad Street, where a
man “suspected of shoplifting” ran
out of the store, across the parking
lot. and got into a waiting 1994
Honda Civic.
•theft by taking at an East New
Street residence, where a woman
reported the theft of a PlayStation
4 Pro from her home. She said her
babysitter said her boyfriend had
taken the PlayStation and pawned it a
iPawn on East May Street. The com
plainant said she went to iPawn and
located the stolen PlayStation there.
•public drunkenness at AmeriCash
Pawn, West May Street, where a man
was reportedly “stumbling” walking
behind the business.
•outstanding arrest warrant on
Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, where
an officer requested assistance and
a 42-year-old male was taken into
custody.
•possession of marijuana at Super
H BP Service Station on East May
Street, where a traffic stop was con
ducted on the driver of a 2002 Suzuki
Vitara.
•intoxicated driver at a traffic net
work road check, PATEN, on College
Avenue, Elberton.
•outstanding arrest warrants and
willful obstruction of law enforce
ment officers on Capitol Avenue,
where a 54-year-old male was picked
up, after he attempted to flee on foot.
•duty upon striking an unattend
ed vehicle on Sims Road, where a
woman reported someone unknown
to her had struck her 2015 Dodge
Journey causing damage around the
passenger side rear wheel.
•cruelty to children, aggravat
ed assault and battery - FVA at
an Amherst Drive residence, where
a domestic dispute was reported
involving a female juvenile and her
mother and father.
•hold for another agency, posses
sion of marijuana, possession and use
of drug-related objects and driving
with a suspended or revoked license
on Georgia Ave., where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driver of a
1996 Mercury Marquis who made an
illegal U-Turn in the middle of the
roadway.
•pedestrian under the influence
(PUI) and possession and use of
drug-related objects on Williamson
Street, where a suspicious person
was reported.
•theft by taking at Winder Health
Care and Rehab, East May Street,
where two “candy dispensers” were
reportedly stolen.
•theft of lost or mislaid property at
Akins Ford, West May Street, where
a license plate was reported missing
off a 2018 Ford F-150 truck that had
been traded in.
•hit and run; duty of the driver to
stop at or return to the scene of an
accident on McNeal Road. A Com
merce woman said she was stopped
at a red light in her 2017 Nissan
Versa when the driver of a Nissan
Altima rear-ended her vehicle and
then fled the scene.
•pedestrian must walk on a side
walk when available and possession
and use of drug-related objects on
West Wright Street, where a suspi
cious person was reported.
•simple battery, burglary, aggra
vated assault, cruelty to children and
reckless conduct at a Lily Drive resi
dence, where a dispute was reported
and a male and female were fighting.
•simple battery - FVA at a Wil
liams Ct. residence, where a domes
tic dispute was reported between a
man and his girlfriend’s daughter.
•identity theft fraud when using/
possessing identifying information
concerning a person at Waffle House,
West May Street, where a woman
reported her former friend had been
using her identity when dealing with
law enforcement.
•willful obstruction of law enforce
ment officers on Capitol Avenue,
where a suspicious person was
reported.
•theft by taking at BP Convenience
Store, East May Street, where a man
reported the theft of his tag off his
2004 Ford Mustang.
•forgery at a Second Street res
idence, where a man and woman
reported a former friend of the wom
an’s stole a checkbook and identifi
cation card and cashed a $120 check
from the stolen checkbook.
•hit and run; duty of the driver to
stop at or return to the scene of an
accident and duty upon striking an
unattended vehicle at a Glen Avenue
residence, where the driver of a 1997
Toyota Camry had reportedly struck
three parked vehicles - 2008 GMC
Envoy, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe and
2007 Honda Accord - and left the
scene.
•possession and use of drug-related
objects at Goodwill, East May Street,
where a shoplifting was reported.
•theft by taking - motor vehicle at
a Wood Avenue, residence, where a
woman reported the theft of her 1997
Toyota Camry.
Pair of shoplifting incidents reported at Walmart in Winder
The Barrow County
Sheriff’s Office reports the
following recent incidents:
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Atlanta High
way NW, Winder, where
a woman had reported
ly shoplifted 23 grocery
items at the self-checkout.
The items totaled over
$126.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where
a man had taken fishing
rods and reels and exited
through the garden cen
ter without paying for the
items totaling over $316.
•theft of lost or mis
laid property at a Reba
Court, Winder, residence,
where a man reported the
tag missing from his 2017
boat trailer.
•hit and run; duty of the
driver to stop at or return
to the scene of an acci
dent, following too closely
and driving without a valid
license on Dunahoo Road
at Holsenbeck School
Road, Winder, where the
driver of a 2003 Chevrolet
Impala reported the driver
of a 2003 Ford Windstar
rear-ended her vehicle and
then left the scene.

where a man reported his
2001 Ford F-150 truck
had been damaged while
it was parked in the park
ing lot. He said a witness
told him the driver of a
1999 Chevrolet Silvera

sharp and rubbed the trail
er against the front bumper
of the complainant’s truck.
The witness pointed out
the truck and trailer that
was parked a short dis
tance away from the com
plainant’s truck.
