Loretta Lucille Almand
WINDER — Loretta Lucille Almand, 66, Winder, left us on
Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Loretta was a classically trained chef.
She not only was a wife to Rick Almand, she was his best
friend. She was a wonderful mother to their sons, Rich Almand
and Matt Almand. “Because of Loretta, we are the men we are
today.” Rest in peace sweetheart.

Harvey Paul Bond
DANIELSVILLE — Harvey Paul Bond, 83, Danielsville,
passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Northeast Geor
gia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Mr. Bond was bom in Ila
on January 5, 1938, son of the
late William Ezra Bond and
the late Leila Haggard Bond.
He was a rural mail carrier
having worked for the Unit
ed States Postal Service. Mr.
Bond was also a United States
Navy veteran having served
during the Korean Conflict and
was a member of the John H.
Jones Masonic Lodge in Dan
ielsville, where he formerly
served as master. He was also
a member of the Danielsville
Baptist Church having served
as Sunday School director and deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
brother, Collis Bond; and sisters, Louise Bond, Bonnie Bond,
Lunice Barrett and Hattie Lee Strickland.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Fortson
Bond; son, Kevin Bond (Katie Tomke), Denver, Colo.; daugh
ters, Jennifer Schildknecht, Athens, Jill Bond (Mischelle Hall),
Virginia, and Kerri Bradberry (Bobby), Danielsville; brother,
L.G. Bond, Toccoa; grandchildren, Parker Marcotte, Bonnie
Marcotte, William Marcotte, Sam Marcotte, Hannah Marcotte,
Reagan Lorkovic, Jake Jordan, Jackson Bond, Dawson Kinder,
Logan Kinder, Rebecca Dobbins, Ryann Dobbins, Ellie Brad-
berry and Collins Bradberry; and one great-grandchildren, Isa-
beau Marcotte.
Funeral service: Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the
Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Barrett officiat
ing. Interment will follow in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Family to receive friends: Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from
12 to 2 p.m. at Pruitt Funeral Home, The family is at the home.
Mask must be worn and social distancing must take place at
all times during visitation and the service on Wednesday at the
request of the family.

Martha Embrick
DAHLONEGA AND JEFFERSON — Martha Embrick, 76,
Dahlonega and Jefferson passed away Saturday, August 7,2021.
Mrs. Embrick was bom in
Franklin County on Septem
ber 5, 1944 to the late Cecil
and Mariam Fincher Hunt.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by
her brothers, George Hunt,
Leon Hunt and Bobby Hunt;
and sister, Linder Hunt. Mrs.
Embrick was a member of
Antioch United Methodist
Church, Nicholson. She re
tired as director of Head Start
in Jackson County after many
years of dedicated service.
A cut-up, fun and loving are
a few words to describe Mrs. Embrick. Her favorite time of the
year was Christmas. One might find eight decorated Christmas
trees and her collection of nutcrackers everywhere in her little
house. Mrs. Embrick was always ready to extend a hand and
help anyone she could. She especially loved children as she ded
icated her life to getting them started in their education. Mrs.
Embrick was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her grand
children lovingly called her “Grandma”.
She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Carver (Coy Smith),
Flowery Branch, and Rita (Tim) Outz, Dahlonega; son, Chris
(Sandra) Pace, Gainesville; sister, Louise Wills, Martin; grand
children, Natalie (Wesley) Flanagan, Cortney Grant, Hannah
(Jordan) Boswell, Adam (Summer) Outz, Cole (Emilee) Pace
and Jennifer Pace (Hunter Viall); great-grandchildren. Harp
er Boswell, Berdie Boswell, Conor Flanagan, Eva Kate Outz,
Chance Outz, Bella Reese Pace and Maddox Pace; and several
nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral service: Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the
chapel of Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson. The Rev. Dalton
Delozier and Dr. Michael Williams will officiate. Interment will
follow at Allens United Methodist Church Cemetery.

William K. "Bill” Farris III
William K. “Bill" Farris III,
71, husband of the late Janice
Meadow Farris, died Sunday,
August 8, 2021.
Bom in Elba, Ala., he was
the son of the late William K.
Farris Jr. and Carolyn Reeves
Farris and father to the late
Suzanne Self. He was affec
tionately known as Tarz by his
family.
Bill was the owner of Bil
ly Meadow’s Station for 40
years and it has been said that
he made the best hot dogs in
town. Bill received a degree from the University of Georgia in
Agronomy and was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and
fish.
Survivors include his siblings, Lyn (Jerry) Pruett, Dawn Far
ris and Jon (Cristina) Farris; brother-in-law, Bill Meadow; and a
number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial service: Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Lord
and Stephens Danielsville Chapel.
Family to receive friends: Sunday, August 15, 2021 from
2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

JEFFERSON — Eugene Fortner, 82, Jefferson, passed away
Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Fortner was bom Sep
tember 11, 1938 in Jackson
County. He was the son of the
late Oscar William Fortner and
Lelia Elizabeth (Gunter) Fort
ner. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Nellie Ruth Munn;
and a son, Edward Eugene
Fortner.

JEFFERSON — Obera Nell McCall Greene, 89, Jefferson,
died Monday, August 2, 2021 at her residence.
Mrs. Greene was bom in
Gastonia, N.C. to the late
James Lawrence and Tera Do-
nella Hipps McCall. She was
a member of Lower Creek
Baptist Church in Lenoir, N.C.
She was a homemaker. In
addition to her parents, Mrs.
Greene was preceded in death
by her husband, Otis Herndon
Greene,
Mrs. Greene is survived by
her daughters, Sandy Massey
(Keith) and Lynn Greene, both
of Commerce; brother, Shei-
lds McCall, Lenoir, N.C.; six
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Joey Allen Kelley
GAINESVILLE — On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, Joey Allen
Kelley, 67, Gainesville, loving husband of April, father of Violet
and Joey, and grandfather, passed away.
Joey was bom May 22,
1954 in Anderson, Indiana
to David Kelley and Phyllis
Jean Hancock Kelley Hymer.
He served in the Marine Corp
from 1972 to 1978.
Along with his parents,
Joey was preceded in death by
his step-father, Abe Hymer; brothers, Larry and Jimmy Hymer;
and sister, Marlene Hymer.
He is survived by his loving wife, April; his two children Joey
Jr. (Cassidy) Kelley, Richmond, Ind., and Violet (Donald) Rob
inson, Savannah; brother, Danny (Susan) Kelley, Colbert; sisters,
Connie (Lynn) Hassell, Waco, Texas, Carolyn (Gary) Bergman,
Connersville, Ind., Ginger (Mike) Bicklehimer, Decatur, Ind.,
Cindy (Howard) Abbey, Crawford, Kelly Ellison, Sarasota, Fla.,
and Elaine Hymer; eight grandchildren, Ryan Kelley, Frankie
Abbey, Bryan Maciel, Makayla Warren, Alexis Warren, Liam
Kelley, Amelia Kelley and Joey Kelley III; and several cousins,
nieces, and nephews.

Kenneth Wayne LeCroy
BETHLEHEM — Kenneth Wayne LeCroy, 64, Bethlehem,
passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
Kenneth was in the construction business and enjoyed build
ing houses. He loved helping others and took up fishing in his
spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sarah
Saylors LeCroy; brothers, Mitchell LeCroy and Edward LeC
roy; sisters Virginia Ann Hill and Melinda Patton.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy LeCroy; son, Walter Wayne
LeCroy; brothers, Robert LeCroy and wife Karen; Dennis LeC

CW2 William Allen McCloud, U.S. Army, Ret.
BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI — CW2 William Allen McCloud,
U.S. Army, Ret., 91, Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on Sun
day, August 1, 2021.
He was preceded in death
by his wife, Marian Frances
McCLoud.
Mr. McCloud was a native
of Virginia and retired as a
Chief Warrant Officer from the
U.S. Army, after serving with
the Army Criminal Investiga
tions Division for five years
and as a Special Agent with the
U.S.A.F. Office of Special In
vestigations for 18 years with
foreign service tours in the Far
East, primarily in Japan. He
met his wife, Marian, while
attending the U.S. State De
partment Foreign Institute to study the Japanese language. Sub
sequent to retiring from the Army, he was employed by Service
Merchandise Company Inc. and retired from there as a regional
vice president of loss prevention.
He is survived by his children, Mark A. McCLoud (Cynthia),
Newnan, Leslie S. Hilton (William), Biloxi, Miss., and John P.
McCloud (Susan), Auburn; two brothers, John R. McCloud,
North, Va., and Douglas G. McCloud, Virginia Beach, Va.;
grandchildren, Rebecca, Taylor, Holly, Charles, Jacob, Marshall
and Sam; two great-grandsons, Ashton and Cody; and other rel
atives and friends.
Funeral service: Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the
funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Arlington National
Cemetery.

COLBERT — Steve "Tubby” Franklin Morgan, 62, Colbert,
passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
Born on July 9, 1959 in
Blackshear, Mr. Morgan was
the son of Gladys (Pope) Mor
gan and the late D.J. Morgan.
He was the widower of Teresa
Morgan, of the Baptist faith,
and was preceded in death by
a son, Steve Morgan Jr.; and a
brother, Johnny Morgan.
Survivors include his fiance,
Gail Hutchinson; sons, Steven
(Belinda) Morgan and Daryl
(Jenny) Cobb; daughters, Sa
brina Morgan, Tabitha Hogan,
Mary Morgan, Marcie Smith,
Terri (Thomas) Crozier, Lori
(Lamar) Shelton and Abby Hutchinson; sisters, Carol (Chuck)
