Lori Diana Losey
JEFFERSON - Lori Diana Losey, 75, passed away
peacefully in the comfort of her home and surrounded
by family, on Friday, October 8, 2021 after a lengthy
battle with cancer.
Lori was bom November 14, 1945 in New York
City to the late Thomas Kalthoff and Sarah Kalthoff
Martinez. Mrs. Losey was also preceded in death by
her step-father, Raymond Martinez; and her brother,
Arthur Martinez.
Mrs. Losey is survived by her husband of 43 years,
James ‘Britt’ Losey; a son, Phillippe Tempel (Alba),
Bloomfield, N.J.; a daughter Bethany Phyle (Charles),
Clarkston, Mich.; three grandchildren, Wyatt Phyle,
Emmerson Phyle and Jasper Tempel; and close
friends, Rita Martino, Stanhope, N.J., and Lisa Parisi,
Naples, Fla..
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Clyde Marvin Maddox
Clyde Marvin Maddox, 80, passed away on Thurs
day, October 21, 2021.
Mr. Maddox was the son of the late Marvin and Lois
McCain Maddox.
Survivors include his wife, Laveme Sorrells Mad
dox; children, Mike (DeeAnn) Maddox and Jeff (Ne
ale) Maddox; sisters, Carolyn (Jimmy) Ferguson and
Elaine Maddox; grandchildren, Trent, Trevor, McK
enzie and Mason Maddox; and several nieces and
nephews.

4 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Helen Fagan McDaniel
WINDER — Helen Fagan McDaniel, 96, Winder,
passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Helen was bom July 7, 1925 to the late Jepter and
Bessie Young Fagan, and was a lifelong resident of
Barrow County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James
Brunelle McDaniel; brother, Harold Fagan; and niece,
Pat Willard.
Helen is survived by her sister, Mildred Brown,
Winder; nieces, Lynn Smith, Winder, Cindy (Terry)
Potts, Winder, and Nancy (Larry) Walker, LaGrange;
and several great-nieces and nephews and their chil
dren.

BRASELTON — Annie Ruby “Marie” (Gearin)
Palmer, 79, Braselton, passed away peacefully Satur
day, October 16, 2021.

Gearin. She is preceded
in death by her husband

zenheiser, Johnny Ray Palmer, Timmy Palmer, all of
Braselton, and Michael (Courtney ) Riddle, Hoschton;
six great-grrandchildren, Joseph Palmer, Gainesville,
Texas, Hunter, Tristan and Alana Palmer, Habersham;

Hilda Inez Parham
CARLTON — Hilda Inez Parham, 75, Carlton, died
Friday, October 22, 2021 at The Hampton House.
Mrs. Parham was bom in Commerce to the late
James Boyd and Annie Lee Daniel Beck. She was
a member of Gordon’s Chapel United Methodist
Church and was an artist and crafter. In addition to her
parents, Mrs. Parham was preceded in death by her
husband, Emory Kelly Parham.
Mrs. Parham is survived by her daughters, Wen
dy (Victor) Fraga, Winterville, and Jennifer Parham,
Commerce; son, Christopher (Taya) Parham, Col
bert; sisters, Brenda Wilbanks, Cornelia, and Mar
ion Williamson, Orange Beach, Ala.; brother, Jer
ry Beck, Commerce; seven grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.

James Howard Park
James Howard Park, 82, passed away on Monday.
September 27, 2021.
Mr. Park was the son of the late James Robert and
Lena Murray Park. Mr. Park was preceded in death by
a daughter, Cindy Park McDonald.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Austin Park; chil
dren, Lisa Park Spears (Matthew Spears) and Shan
non Park Lampp (Ken Lampp); grandchildren, Kea
ton Toevs, Logan Toevs (Ashley Trevino) and Austin
McDonald (Sydney McDonald); and great-grandchil
dren, Bentley Toevs, Noah Toevs, Mason McDonald,
Rhett McDonald and Lennon McDonald.

Carlton Harry Peters
COMMERCE — Carlton Harry Peters, 92, Com
merce, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
He was bom in Walton County on April 24, 1929
to the late Maggie Belle Malcom Peters and the late
John Robert Peters. He was preceded in death by his
wife, the late Shirley Greene Peters; and his brother,
the late Hoyte Peters.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Luke
and Cara Peters, Fort Mill, S.C.; grandchildren, Ev
elyn Peters, Boston, Mass., and James Peters, Fort
Mill, S.C.; nephew, Scott Peters, Houston, Texas; and
brothers-in-law, Lee Greene, Winder, and Richard
Greene, Braselton.
Graveside service: Saturday, October 23, 2021 at
3 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery in Monroe (located at
the intersection of Hwy. 11 and Alton Green Rd.).

Chandler Pittman
BRASELTON — Chandler Pittman, 87, Braselton,
passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021.
Mr. Pittman was bom on October 17, 1934 in Lula.
He received his education in the Hall County school
system and worked for Holbrook Myers Grading Co.
Mr. Pittman was a member of Oak Grove Indepen
dent Baptist Church. He was a fomier member of Old
Suwanee Baptist Church for a number of years and a
member of Operate Engineer 926, Rex.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years,
Virginia Archer Pittman; daughter, Virginia Diane Pit
tman; and son, Thomas Sam Pittman.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Lord Pittman,
Jefferson; daughters, Lucy Pichard (Gene), Gaines
ville, and Marie Bailey (Greg), Winder; five grand
children; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julie Cook,
Lawrenceville, and Joyce Pealock (Billy), Suwanee;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service: Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at
2 p.m. at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Duluth,
with the Rev. Danny Green officiating.

Sharon A. Strickland
Sharon A. Strickland, 57, cherished wife, mother,
grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away on Fri
day, October 15, 2021.
Bom in Athens, she was the daughter of Kay Bur
roughs Campbell and the late Cornelius Adams. Sha
ron loved going to the beach and having her toes in
the sand. She also enjoyed gardening, drag racing and
most importantly, she thrived on time spent with her
family and grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death
by her grandparents, Charlie and Gladys Burroughs
and Van and Roberta Hardman; and her uncles, Dar
rell Adams and Jack Adams.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her hus
band, Lanier Strickland; two children, Lauren Tarver
(Nick) and Jason Strickland; two brothers, Matt Ad
ams (Diane) and Dennis Adams; two granddaughters,
Emma Tarver and Aubrey Tarver; father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Howard and Ann Strickland; and one
brother-in-law, Jeff Strickland.

Horace Whitfield
GILLSVILLE — Horace Whitfield, 76, Gillsville,
passed away on Saturday, October 24,2021 at his res
idence.
Mr. Whitfield was bom in Gillsville to Mary Belle
Savage Echols of Gillsville and the late H.J. Whit
field. Mr. Whitfield was retired from Tri-Bio Labs and
a member of Word of Life Church. In addition to his
father, Mr. Whitfield was also preceded in death by his
son, Chad Burnett.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Whitfield is also sur
vived by his wife, Sandra Strickland Whitfield, Gills
ville; children, Amy Whitfield, Cornelia, Chris Bur
nett, Gillsville, and Tonya McClure (Lt.Col. Shawn),
Gillsville; brother, Billy Whitfield (Brenda), Gills
ville; four grandchildren, Blake Burnett (Chelsea An
derson), Tucker McClure, Bella McClure and Sarah
Riggins; and family friend, Matthew Hurst.
