He is survived by his son, James McIntyre, Car
rollton; daughters, Karian McIntyre, Conyers, and
Erica McIntyre, Hiram; brother, Glenn McIntyre;
sister, Denice Taylor and husband Jerry, Camp-
ton; grandchildren Devon, Mason and Anthony;
great-grandchildren, Paisley, Silas and Everly.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents,
James and Runell McIntyre; brothers, Bobby
McIntyre and Herman McIntyre; sister, Patricia
Bullington.
Funeral service: Friday, September 29, 2023, at
2 p.m. in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Of
ficiating will be the family Interment to follow at
Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
Family to receive friends: Friday, September 29,
2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Broadus Eugene “Gene” Nichols
LULA— Broadus Eugene “Gene” Nichols, 75,
Lula, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday,
September 24,2023, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Nichols was bom
on July 22, 1948, in
Habersham County to
the late Henry Grady
Nichols and Christine
Miles Nichols. In addi
tion to his parents, he
was preceded in death
by his siblings, S.T.
“Nick” Nichols, James
Ray Nichols, Barbara
Poole, Richard Nichols,
Wayne Nichols, Virgin
ia Evans, Martha Nichols and Faye Nichols.
Gene was a member of Rock Springs Baptist
Church, where he was a dedicated member of the
choir and his Sunday School class. In his early
years, Gene enjoyed pitching horseshoes and lat
er enjoyed working in his yard. Most of all, Gene
loved to spend time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 53
years, Mavis Sheridan Nichols, Lula; daughter and
son-in-law, Julie and Chad Payne, Adel; grandson,
Austin Payne, Adel; brother, David Nichols, Com
merce; and numerous nieces and nephews as well
as close family friends.
Funeral service: Wednesday, September 27,
2023, at 2 p.m. at the Rock Springs Baptist Church
with the Revs. Bart McMillan and Chad Payne of
ficiating.
Family to receive friends: Wednesday, Septem
ber 27,2023, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Linda Lucille Palmer
COMMERCE — Linda Lucille Palmer, 77,
Commerce, passed away on Wednesday, Septem
ber 27, 2023, at Piedmont Athens Regional Med
ical Center.
Linda was bom in Athens on August 13, 1946,
and raised by her mother, Lucille West.
Linda loved spending time with her family, espe
cially on vacations to the beach and Disney World.
She never missed an important family event or
gathering. She loved her kids and grandkids “a
bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Lu
cille West; and brother, Kenneth West.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Cook
(Danny), Nicholson, and Valerie Boone; grandchil
dren, Danielle, Clint, Cody, Sierra and Summer;
and great-grandchildren, Christian, Madison, Ella,
Hydi, Kayleigh, Dalton, Kaydence, Myles, Lana,
Layne and Rylee.
Funeral service: Saturday, September 30,2023, at
2 p.m. in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. Serv
ing as pallbearers will be Clint Cook, Cody Cook,
Christian Cook, Josh Streetman, Landon Peek and
Rod Allen.
Family to receive friends: Saturday, September
30, 2023, from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in
charge of arrangements.
