saw a turnout of over 10,000
attendees and the city antici

ises an evening brimming
with more thrills and chills.

First Baptist Carl is hosting a trunk-or-treat on
Sunday, Oct. 15 from 3-6 p.m. In addition to lots of
candy, the event will also have popcorn, cotton
candy, games.

METHODIST CHURCH TRUNK

Winder First United Methodist Church is hosting a
trunk-or-treat event on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5-7
p.m. The family friendly event will feature Barrow
County’s Pharoahs of Georgia with their hotrods.
The Winder FUMC is located at 280 N Broad St.

LIONS CLUB SET FOR OCT. 29
A trunk or treat event hosted by the FOP Lodge
114 and the Winder Lions Club is set for Sunday,
Oct. 29 from 3-6 p.m. at the Lions Club in Winder.
Email trunktreat2023@gmail.com to participate
in trunk decorating or to donate a raffle prize. The
cost to enter in $ 10 per vehicle. All proceeds go to
the FOP Lodge and Winder Lions Club.
BETHLEHEM FIRST UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH TRUNK

The Bethlehem First United Methodist Chmch is
hosting a trunk-or-treat fall celebration on Oct. 29
from 6:30 p.m. until the candy runs out. Wear your
most festive costume and bring a bag to carry all
your goodies. In the event of poor weather, the
event will be moved indoors. The Bethlehem First
United Methodist Chmch is located at 709
Christmas Ave. in Bethlehem.
AUBURN PARKS AND LEISURE DEPT.
HOSTING TRUCK OR TREAT OCT. 30
The City of Auburn’s Parks and Leisure Department
is hosting a Truck or Treat on Oct. 30 for the
citizens of Auburn. Several local businesses will
participate and pass out candy. A road closure on
4th Avenue from Mt. Moriah to the police station
on Monday, Oct. 30.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
The Barrow County Habitat for Humanity is seeking vol
unteers to help with unloading trucks, moving furniture,
cleaning and putting together furniture anytime Mon-

Fall Festival
Fall is in the air, and Winder is gearing up to celebrate
with its first annual Oktoberfest-themed event, Barrels
and Brews on Oct. 6. The event will feature 10 distinct
breweries, a costume contest, axe throwing, The Vibe
Band in concert and special visit from Willy Wonka to
give the first attendees the chance to win a Golden Ticket.
The event is Winder’s October TGIFF event at Jug Tav
ern Park, 139 E. Athens St.
City of Auburn’s AuburnFest Fall Festival is set for Oct. 21 at
11 a.m. Residents can participate in the pie baking contests,
canning contests, quilting and knitting contest and more.
Area backyard BBQ competitors will showcase their smoking
skills with tasty BBQ as they compete for prizes. The festi
val will also feature hayrides, face painting, inflatables, free
crafts, food trucks, craft vendors and live music by The Drov
ers Old Time Medicine Show.
Jug Tavern Festival returns Nov. 3-4
This November, Winder’s Jug Tavern Festival is
back and better than ever. Friday night, Nov. 3,
kicks off the weekend of festivities with a concert
and fun for the whole family. Saturday, Nov. 4, is
the main event that will feature live music all day,
hot air balloons, food trucks, a UGA vs. Missouri
football game viewing section and more. Friday’s
events begin at 6 p.m. Saturday’s events begin at
noon and end at 9 p.m. Jug Tavern Park is located
at 139 E Athens St. in Winder.

suicide Oct 22
Several years ago, the First
Christian Church Disciples of
Christ in Winder began a men
tal health initiative that has re
sulted in the fourth annual walk
to be held on Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.
at the church located at 275 N.
5th Avenue in Winder. The ap
proximate one mile walk goes
around the Chalice Walkway
and around the Winder Barrow
High School complex.
To partner with other individ
uals to raise awareness and funds
to support the American Foun
dation of Suicide Prevention,
