LaRue Barber Adams
NICHOLSON — LaRue Barber Adams, 88, Nicholson,
entered rest Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Mrs. Adams was bom
in Royston, a daughter of
the late Theron and Edna
Mae Waddell Barber, was
a member of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints, was a home
maker, poultry farmer and
co-founder of Adams Tile
and Terrazzo.
In addition to her parents,
Mrs. Adams is preceded by
her beloved husband, Har
old Dean Adams; grand
sons, Josh and Jeb Adams; sister, Betty Jean Brock; and
brothers, Clyde and James Barber.
Survivors include her children, Kay David (Junior),
Cindy Jones (Joe), Scott Adams (Janet), Kim David and
Reuben Adams (Angela); sister, Robbie Adams; 19 grand
children; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-
grandchild also survive.
Cryptside service: Saturday, October 28,2023, at 3 p.m.
from Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens, with Brother
Leon McLain officiating. Mrs. Adams grandsons, Dustin
David, Joseph Jones, Corey Jones, Kevin Jones, Brant Ad
ams, Jake David, Luke David, Cody David and Seth Ad

Jacob Lee Armour
ALTO — Jacob Lee Armour, 77, Alto, passed away on
Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Bom on April 26, 1946,
in Alto, he was a son of the
late Taft Armour and Leler
Bell Dodd Armour. Jacob
was known by many as a
hard-worker, who owned
and operated Jacob Armour
Logging for 60 years.
Most of all, however, he
will be remembered for
his service to his Lord Je
sus Christ. He preached
the gospel for many years,
warning others to “be ye
also ready”. For 40 of those years, he faithfully pastored
Antioch Holiness Church in Lula.
In his spare time, among other things, he enjoyed re
storing antique automobiles, being outdoors and traveling.
However, in all of this, he still took time to love others and
to share the gospel. He will be missed by all who knew
him, especially by his family whom he dearly loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his first wife, Mattie Jean Jamerson Armour; brothers,
David, Moses and Jerry Armour; sister, Mary Magaleen
Oliver; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Wiley, Leon Almand and
Robert Magness; sister-in-law, Frankie Armour; and dear
friend, Danny Seitz.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Seitz-Armour, Alto;
sons and daughters-in-law, Tim Armour (Jan), Cornelia,
Chuck Armour (Rhonda) and Graylen Armour (Amanda),
all of Alto; grandchildren, Erin Roberts (Seth) and Emily
Roberts (Kelvin), all of Alto, Hunter Armour (Sadie) and
Fisher Armour, all of Cornelia, Dylan Armour (Brandy),
Alto, Levi Armour (Moriah), Kentucky, and Reagen and
Logan Ferguson whom he loved as his own grandchil
dren; great- grandchildren, Mattilyn, Sadie and Adaleide
Roberts, Lacey and Hadli Roberts, Graysen Armour and
Buck Armour; brothers, Daniel Armour (LouNell), Lula,
and Joseph Armour (Doris), Alto; sisters, Rachel Wiley
Almand, Lula, and Ann Magness, Alto; brother-in-law,
Freeman Oliver, Lula; numerous nieces, nephews, oth
er relatives, church family, and friends; step-daughters,
Lawanda McDougal (Chris), Dana Cornett (Ricky) and
Sheri Dover (Chris); and step- grandchildren, Krista, and
Carly McDougal, Will Mincey and Jackson Cornett.
Funeral service: Thursday, October 26, 2023, at
2:30 p.m. at Antioch Holiness Church with the Revs.

ciating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with
the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating.

Melvin Douglas Cash
HOSCHTON — Melvin Douglas Cash, 78, Hoschton,
passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27,2023.
Mr. Cash was a master mechanic by trade and was the
owner of CRC Auto Parts. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunt
ing and antique cars. He will be best remembered by his
family as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfa
ther.
Mr. Cash was preceded in death by his parents, Paul
Cash and Rosebell Mealer Cash; and brother, Larry Cash.
Mr. Cash is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Joyce
Adams Cash; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda (Mike)
Simonton; grandchild, Lex Simonton; and siblings, Sue
Payne, Bobby (Audrey) Cash, Paul Cash Jr., Marvin Lee
Cash, Wilma (Sonny) Rainwater, Brenda (Mike) Hope,
Clifford (Cindy) Cash and Connie Bray; along with a host
of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Linda Faye Cole, 53, cherished wife, mother, grand
mother, daughter and sister, passed away on Thursday,
October 26, 2023.

she was a daughter of Da
vid Cook (Betty) and Rita
Marshall. Linda loved
flowers, gardening and en
joyed adopting various dif
ferent types of animals to
love and care for.
She was preceded in
death by her grandparents,

and step-brother, Butch Ad
ams.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Cole Sr.; children,

Jack William Davidson
LULA — Jack William Davidson, 83, Lula, passed
away on Wednesday, October 25,2023.
Bom on September 6,
1940, in Alto, he was the
son of the late William
Gratt “Bill” Davidson and
Mary Elizabeth Wiley Da
vidson.
Jack worked at Barko
Hydraulics and retired as
a salesman from Pioneer
Caterpillar where he al
ways strived to make his
customers happy. He was
a member of Enon Baptist
Church and the Old Friends
Car Club.
Jack was a family man who loved his children, grand
children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and
enjoyed old cars, especially 55 Fords, and stock car racing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Jane Half Davidson;
and sisters, Hazel Miller, Ruby White, Lois Stephens,
Christine Masters and Elise Wade.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike
Davidson (Jackie), Alto, and James Davidson (Kay),
Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Christine Gamer (Clint),
Stephanie Farina (John Michael), Will Davidson (Susan
na), Marissa Davidson, Thor Smith (Hannah), Zack Smith
and Taylor Maynard (Mark); great-grandchildren, Emmie
Gamer, Willow Gamer, Walker Vincent Farina, Archer Fa
rina and William Todd Davidson; sister, Juanita Wilbanks,
Lula; sister-in-law, Sandra Couch (Mike); special family,

Alton Emory
HOMER — Alton Emory, 72, Homer, passed away on
Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
Bom on November 4, 1950, in Atlanta, Mr. Emory was
the son of the late George Samuel and Lucille Smitherman
Emory.
Mr. Emory was a retired carpenter with Local Union
225, of the Baptist faith,
and was preceded in death
by siblings, Alan Emory,
Malcolm Emory and Linda
Hunter.
Survivors include his
wife of 55 years, Wanda
Williams Emory; son, Rob
ert Alton Emory Jr.; sisters,
Gail Walcott and Nancy
Khoury; brothers, Stuart
Emory, Don Emory, Steve
Emory, Jimmy Emory and
Butch Emory; two grandchildren; three great-grandchil
dren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A cremation will be taking place per the deceased wish

Josh Randall Faulkner
HULL — Josh Randall Faulkner, 49, Hull, loving hus
band of 10 years to Sheyna Hopkins Faulkner, died on
Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
A native of Comer, Josh was the son of Gilda Jean
Faulkner and the late Harold K. “Mutt” Faulkner. Josh
was an exemplary father to
their 11 year old daughter,
Kaitlann Faith Faulkner.
Josh was a loyal fan of the
NFL team Dallas Cow
boys, our very own Geor
gia Bulldogs and Atlanta
Braves.
Josh worked as a con
crete cutter, for A Ga.
Cutter in Comer, nearly
a decade. His boss, Joe
Mattem, treated Josh like
family and always recognized him for his valiant work
ethic, and over time, they became friends. Before this Josh
worked at his brother’s restaurant (Butt Hutt BBQ off
Macon Hwy. in Athens). This is also where Josh met his
wife, and began a beautiful and timeless love story. Josh
worked several other jobs in other fields such as siding,
roofing, demolition and built displays for Home Depot
throughout the United States.
He worked every day with no call-ins and always on
time. Josh loved his family so very much, often times in
troducing his wife as “The woman sent to him straight
from God”. Josh treasures his wife and daughter in an in
describable way. He made it clear to all who knew him,
that these two women were his “greatest accomplish
ments” and loved and provided diligently for his family
and anyone he knew.
Josh attended Danielsville Evangelical Church and in
June of this year was baptized in the name of the Father,
the Son and The Holy Spirit along with his daughter and
wife.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and daughter, include
his mother, Gilda/”G-Nanny”; his brother, Nile (Kan-
dace) Faulkner, Athens; his sister, Carrie (Troy) Yanc
ey; sisters-in-law, Erika (Cody) Blackmon and Jessica
Hopkins, Augusta; nieces and nephews, Dillon (Kristen)
Faulkner, Allie (Braxton) Legg, Riley, Reagan and Ryder
Yancey, Carter Hayes and Kyler Blackmon; great-niece,
Charley Faulkner; great-nephews, Remington Faulkner,
and arriving in November, Weston Legg; mother-in-law,
Trish (William) Wheeler; father-in-law, Kelvin Hopkins;
Swainsboro; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service: Friday, October 27, 2023, at 2 p.m. in
the Lord and Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Pastors
Dwayne Dickerson and Keith Nix officiating. Honorary
pallbearers will be Nile and Dillon Faulkner, Troy Yancey,
Jason Booth, Joe Alewine and Joe Mattem.

Jon Edward Freeland
JEFFERSON — Jon Edward Freeland, 68, Jefferson,
passed away at home on Sunday, October 22, 2023. In his
last days, he was battling colon cancer and heart disease.
Jon was bom on August 26, 1955, in Fort Monmouth,
New Jersey, to Frederick and Helen Audre Freeland. He
was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Lat
ter-Day Saints.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and
Helen Audre Freeland; his brother, Frederick Freeland Jr.;
and his sister, Cynthia Ahroon.
Jon is survived by his wife, Maria Freeland; five chil
dren, Sara Freeland, Emily Pugh, Daniel Freeland, Me
lissa Jones and Carolynn Freeland, and their spouses; and
eight grandchildren. His children were his pride and joy.
