LIBERTY BONDS AND - w
THE INVESTING PUBLIC
lih o
Shrewd investors who are accustom
ed to studying values in securities
have heen ‘abgorbing Liberty Bonds
and Victory Notes in large quantities
during the last thirty days, wisely tak
ing advantage of the opportunity o
buy theze gili-edge securities at a
low price with a high yield.
1t iz not desired by the Government
that money he taken from active busi
ness and productive industry to in
vest in Government securities, but it
is very desirable that the clags of
investors composed of people . who
do not care to undergo the hazzards
of active business should put their
money in Government securities, while
there is sucgh an extraordinary nppmfli
tunity tor profitable investment in

The Director of the War Loan
Organization of the Sixth Federal Re
setve District has addressed & lettog
to all the hankers connected wnhj
the Federal Regerve system, askingj
them to bring this matter to the xmpn»‘
tion of investors, Following is a copy:
“Buginess men naturally look to the 1
banker as a counseloy in financial mat
ters, particularly in choosing invest
ments, and if the banker will make
it a proectiee to advise investors of
surplus funds to puf their moncy in
Covernment ‘ honds, calling attention
to ihe high yield at present market
prices, he will do g great deal to ‘lning
the investing pyblic into the market
for ihese f;gmlrxt!er.. In doing €0 he
will gave many a man. from loas by
unwie investinent,
“1f the general public can he brought
in as inveators in Government honds,
the market will be strengthened, and
all concerned will be benefitted. To
this end 1 #m asking your influence
and acilve cooperation,
“The vcsult of such a policy congig
tently adhéred to by bankerz will he
to put Government securities on a
firm basis and to add many millions to
the market value of hankers' assein,
* “This result will also be gratiying
to millions of patrictic people, who are
not only supporters of the Government
but algo in many cases among the
best customers of Lanks.”
While an increased demand for Gov
aernment Bonds would undoubtedly re
sult in an jadvance in the market
price, those investors who buy now
would get in on the ground floor,
