TRUNK VICTIM ABOUT TO BE
COME MOTHER—FINALLY. IDEN
TIFIED AS A MISSISSIPP! GIRL.
Detroit, July 28.—A statement to
the podice by Mrs. Leo Turnbuil, wife
of a patrolman, that Mrs, Eugene Le-
Roy, victim of Detroit’s trunk murder
mystery, had confided in her that she
was about to become a mother, injec:
tcd a new theory into the case today.
Police today divided their attention
hetween a hunt for Leßoy, husbhand
of the_slain woman, and a gecond
trunk believed to contain the vital or
gans of the body, and which is known
to have been sent from the Harper
avenue apartment house where the
Leßoys lived.
Police believe that examination of
the organs might reveal whether
death was due to a criminal operation
as has been hinted since Mrs. Turn
vull made her statement. It was Pa
‘yolman and Mrs. Turnbull who iden
tified the vietim through clothing
found in the trunk.
Mrs. Turnbull was to go to New
York today to view the body
The police declared today they had
agtablished that Mrs. Leßoy planned
an attempt at suicide before her death
