THE SET OF THE SOUL.
“One ship drives east, and another
west,
By the self-same winds that blow;
‘Tis the set of the sails, and not the
gales, 4
That tell us the way they go.
As are the ways of ships, so are the
ways of fate, |
As we journey along through life.
“Tis the set of the soul that decides
the goal,
And not the journey or the strife.”
—Ella Wheeler Wilcox.

Whereas, Our Heavenly Father in-|

our midst one, whose christian char

a profound and affectionate regard.
Therefore, Be it resolved, First,
that we (desire to express our deep

To stitch flimsy silk or laces nicely
is not difficult if the work is pinned
or basted to a newspaper before stitch
ing. The paper makes a more even
thickness, absolutely prevents pucker

That's the way some people prac

their money out of town to some mail

its being satisfactory, when they can
obtain the same or better article from
their home merchant at the same
price and save express charges.
