Norfolk, Va., October 26.—Mrs.
Emily Wilson, 21 years old, was ar
rested here.on a charge of infanti
cide and immediately. orderel to a
hospital by a health department
physician, as hey conditicn is se
rious.
"While a circus perade :vas in
progr2ss Mrs., Wilson entered a
downtown laundry, and going into
the fire room, handel a bundle to
a negro fireman and requested him
to throw it into the furnace, telling
him that it contained rags. The fire
man's uun’osity‘wus arcused hy a
movement he folt in the package as
it left his hands for the flame. Rak
ing the bundle from the ccalg, he dis
covered that it contained the body of
an infant. The boedy was so badly
inutilated by the flames that the coro
nor was unable to determine the
manner of the child's death.
Mrs. Wilson, who is the mother of
wo children, is separated frdm her
husband. Thé& pclice said she stated

day.

Riedsville, Oct. 26 —Farmers and
business men of Tattnall county have
made arrangements with the Power
Farming Assoociation of America to
handle power farm ‘lemonstraitions
November 4 -and 5, which will bring
to the peécple the various methods in
medern power farming.
'The Power Farming Association
was corganized in Live Oak, Fla.,
March 17, 1920, and has carried a
message of better farming conditions
to more than 10,000 fariners and busi
ness Imen. '
This crganization is no way conneg
ted with the sale .of machinery, but
is the medium to bring to contract
peint the best interest of the farmer,
the communities and the manufactur
ers of power farming machinery. Hand
lakor is g thing of the past in- manu
facturing in comparison with the
work which can be performel by
modern implements, :
W. B. Troy, chairman c¢f 'the Power
Farming Association, has bheen mak
ing Reidsville his headquarters for
several days arranging for the com
ing demcnstration. On November 4,
the demenstration will be staged on
the farm ‘of Lester Wilkes, 3 miles
frem Reidsville. On the'~folldwing
day the farm of J. E. Kirkland, one
mile from Gleenville will Le used.
Interesting talks will he made at
each demonstratioon on the modern
ways and better methods 'of doing
farm work .
