that of Miss Ruth Matthews and Mr.
Frank Calloway Starr which was
solemiiized today at high noon at the
Suburban home of the brides parents

Methodist church, performed the im
pressive ceremony, Miss Mamie Sue
Harris played the wedding march.
The coupie entered the parlor togeth
er and stood hefore a beautiful im
proviged altar with archway of gregn‘
in theg- center ‘of which: hung.a’ large
white wedding bell. Vases of ex
quisite pink and white carnations
completed the artistic deccrations.
The bride was becomingly attiredl
in g traveling suit of dark blue peach
bloom trimmed in seal fur with ac
‘céssories of -browp, and carried - a
houquet of bride’s roses with valley
lillies. . o

Immediately after the ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Starr left for a wedding
trip of ten days to points in Florida.
The bride is the second daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. W, B. Matthews and
one’ of' Cordele’s beloved girls, pos-|
sessing a charming personality and
endowed with many - splendid quali
ties of heart and mind. - She is. a
graduate of G. N. T, C. and is a teach

against Mrs. Annie A: Wurtham, both
residing in ‘Savannah, |
The plaintiff recited in his petition
that his mother-in-law insisted on
living with him and that she aided
and abetted his wife in making his
life & “h—l.” He accuses the two of
throwing everything at him from the
family Bible to the tableware. One
occasion, according to the petition
his wife attempted to brand him with
a hot electric iron, His wife's broth
er-in-law, he charges, also invited him
to step outside the house and receive
a beating. : e

Tate Shiver, also white, at a party
last Friday night at the home of
Hamp Shiver. ‘Shiver died Sunday
morning jat 3 o'clock, The weapon
used wag a pistol. The officérs have

‘and it gl thought that he has suc
ceeded in getting beyond the limits
of the state. Tt is said that young
Shiver was not armed, even with a
poeket knife, TFate Shiver was from
a large and influential family in
Mitchell county, and there is strong

ley brothers’ moticn for a new' trial.
The Crawleys were convicted in the
Towns county superiop court of com
viicity in the murder of Deputy Uni
ted States Marshal Dixon, |
