The work of remodeling and ve
pairing the residence of Mrs. K. R.
Johnson on Fourteenth Avenue i«
nearing completion. The dining room
has been enlarged, two new hedrooms
hath and porch added and many in
terior improvements made. This res
idence which Mrs. Johnson pur
chased several years ago, with recent
improvements is now one of the
largest and handsomest in -the down
town residence section of the city.

ing. The funeral services wil be con

\A GOOD WOMAN IS '
GONE TO HER REWARD
On Sunday, Dec. 12th., Mrs.. Dora
Belle MeKinney died at her home
near Seoville, after a short illness of
five days with blosd poison. Her
suffering was intense, but of short
duration, and was borne with that
same quiet, loving, christain patience
always trusting in her T.ord.
She was 39 years of age, professed
'failh in Jedus at the age of fifteen,
land united with the Baptist church
to which she has been a rue and
lfaithful member. :
} The Lord wanted sister, so quietly
and peacefully she passed into the
}g]m-y of the Heavenly home, and as
jshn entered the portals of the “City
3‘“" Gold”, she smiled of the Lord
lifted up her face with Heaven's own
Leauty, oh, how we miss her, but
“God’s will, and not ours he done.”

The city: public schools closed at
noen today for the fall term. The
spring term will open on Monday,
January 9
During the morning appropriate
cloging exercises were held. Mr
Root ‘of the Community Service con:
ducted a s‘png gervice in the schog)
auditorium, following which Mrs.
Laramore, ~expression teacher, gave
a delighttul Christmas play. A num
ber of the grades had Christmas trees
in their respective rooms, and the
closing day was a real happy one for
the faculty and pupils alikt.

ed husband, Mr. C. D. McKinney, six
children, two sisters, and four broth
ers, hesides a host of other relativeg
She was daughter of Rev. and Mrs
A. J. Sanders of Vienna and was &
devoted wife and a sweet, tender,
loving mother, whose place cannot be
filled. Her remaing were conveyed
io the Mars Hill cemetary, where in
terment was made, Rev. Cox of Tip:
pettville conducted the funeral ser
vices, in the presence «f large
number of:friends and relatives.
