GAME ARRANGED FOR GIRLS
AND BOYS ON LOCAL GROUNDS
The basket ball team of the Cor
dele High School returned a game
to the high school team of Ashburn
yesterday afterncon. 7The game wa
played on an open court, Cordele de
feating Ashburn by a scoire of 21 to
14. The Cordele quintet went into
the game with perhaps an over cn
tidence of victory. Anyway they play
ed rather listlessly through the first
half and Ashburn had rounded up a
score of eleven against Cordele’s
eight when the first half came to o
close. Then the @, (H.'B. gettled
down to bhusiness and went in fo
a strong, steady fight.
“Red” Barwick shor fonr field goals
and three fouls, Ward shot three
tield goals and Joe Miller shot iwo
Six automobiles took a good num
ber of spectators from Cordele to
witness the game.

acknowledge a gift of pork sausage
from the home of Mr, and Mrs, Homer
Wheeler. "Twenty six porkers, fine
and fat, lost their heaas last week on
the li, C, Wheeler farm, These will
go to help make the supply of meat
for the year,
The sausage were made up in
gocd torm and when barbecued to 2
crisp brown, they made the meal of
all meals,

boys team of the Sylvester high
school will return a game to the boys
of the Cordele team. The girls will
take their first quarter on the court.
