Chatsworth, Ga., Feb. 18,—IWhen
the case of Verner Vincent, charged
with the murder of Smith Treadwell
here last May, was called in Murray
superier c¢ourt Wednesday mor'ning
the defendant failed to appear and
his hond of $7,600 was ordered for
feited hy Judge M. C. Tarver. Vin
cent cannot be located,
Judge Tarver has continued the
ciase until Friday morning when it
will ,again he called. . '

Following the trial Vincent was re

The address of the occasion will be
‘delivered by Judge O. T. Gower in his
usual forceful and pleasing manner.
The children of the schools have
practiced their respective parts on
the program thoroughly and these fea
tures will be highly entertaining to
all. A song by Prof. K. B. Edwards
will also be a pleasing number on

night, but Huckabee says, “when
Ashburn improves this week, it is be

The game hetween Ashburn and
Moultrie at the latter place was I
free-for all battle, Moultrie taking
| the game by a score of 37 to 26.
’Asahl,urn started off with a- rush and
played a swift game all the way
throug. Nineteen fouls were made in
the game, two men heing put out.
Sirelair of Moultrie sustained a
broken knee. Davis of AshLurn and
Miller of Moultrie starred, making
15 pcints each. In the gecond hal? of

back when Morgan and Huckabee
were stunned by falls, but kept on
rlaying. .
