CRIMINAL DOCKET
-~ FOR FEDERAL COURT
Albany, Ga., June 19.—Only crimi- ‘
nal cases and a few civil actions in
which there is no-contest will receive
attention at the June term of the
United States court, Albany division,
40 convene here Monday morning
with Judge W. B. Sheppard, of Pen
sacola, presiding. The grand jury
probably will be kept busy during
most of the term, owing to the fact
that no grand jury served during the
term of the court six months ago.
It is stated that the case of S. M.
Watson, former Dpresident of the
Girst National Bank of Colquitt will
not be gone into at this e%, cwing
to the fact that the national bank ex
miner, who will be an important
witness for the state, has been call
ed to California on other business,
and will not be able to get back in
time to present the evidence he is as
sumed to have.
' The grand jury for the term is
made up of leading business men of
this section. They are A. H. Groover,
Moultrie; J. H. Cook, Sr., Colquitt;

\ VERY SYMPATHETIC ROLE
. IN LOVES REDEMPTION

If your attitude towards girls
who have to fight life’s battles by
themselves is mellowed by kindness
youwll find a sympathetic echo in
your heart for Ginger as she breasts
the waves of unkind ecriticism and
abuse in ‘“Love’s Redemption,” tuoe
attraction at the Circle Theatre -
day and tomorrow. Nvrma Tai
wadge is the star i a ratiling good
story that gives her greater opvorta
nity to display her charm and dra
-matic ability than anything she has
had recently.
Here’s the story in brief: Depriv
ed of her last benefactor by the de
parture of Capt. Bill Hennessey for
England, Ginger, a girl of Spanish-
English blood, decides to remake
Clifford Standish, an exile from Eng
land who is slowly being poisoned by
the rum of the island. It is a battle
of a girl’s keen wit against every
crook on the island. Ginger wins
out, only to lose as a summons comes
to return to England. In the midst
of aristocratic surroundings, for

Ginger goes with him as his wife,
there comes the crucial test of wheth
er the man has really remade him
self. And Standish is the one who
helps Ginger and the answer in a cli
max that stuns while it relieves.
Norma Talmadge fits the part of
the ingenious gir\l as if she had been
born to it. It is this keen character
portrayal, the simple naiveness of
the girl hthat wins the heasts of = the
audience as she fights the struggle
alone, hiding her tears so that the
man may be inspired by her opti

You'll enjoy the magnificence of
the West Indian scenery. Most of
the exteriors were taken there and
add a realistic touch to the picture
that made the sentiment throb with
feeling.
