The young men were returning to
Bainbridge after taking a joy ride. In
passing a Ford about three miles
from here the steering gear is said
l\to have become locked and the auto
mobile turned over.
News of the accident reached here
in a fow minutes and help was rush
ed to the scene. The injured were
brought here in automobiles.

Newton, president of the Waltor
County Bank, of this place, has jusr
cuceceded in giving the people of
this secction ra practical demonstra
tion in profitable farm diversifica
tion. Mr| Newton, on a vacant half
pere plot of ground just in the rear
g¢f the bank building, has gathered
one ton of Bermuda onions. The
onions arc quoted today at six cents
per pound, ¥. O. B. The total ex
pense of planting, cultivating and
marketing the onions from the
half acre plot will not exceed $5O,
thus leaving a clear profit of some
$7O, or about $ll5O for an, acre.
The ground on which the onions grew
will be planted to another crop im
mediately.
