FINE MEETING HELD IN WHICH

ITY TO NAME SECRETARY
In a largely attended meeting of‘
the Board of Directors last night,
Mr. P. G Fitzgibbons was elecledl

of Trade. l
Mr. Fred Harder was elected one
of ‘the vice presidents, Mr. F. L.‘
Bartholomew being the other vice
presidept. ‘
The president and two vice pres
idents were authorized as a commit

the coming yeear, Mr. Greer’s con
tract having ended on June 22,
At its general meeting recently,
the Board of Trade electedfifteen ad‘
ditional directors, and most of these
with many of the ld members were
present and the general sentiment
of the meeting was enthusiastic and
harmonious.
The secretary made his annual fi
nancial repcrt, showing that the
board has cost $5,642.19 for the en
tire year and that the Board was
free of debt excepti to the secre
tary.
It was shown that the Board of
Trade had done many things for
iCrisp count_;/, Cordele and the sur
rounding territory during the past
year, had many other things under
development that would eventually
’ be worked out and that the Board of
Trade was ab--lutely essential for
jtho progress .. the community in
future. One ¢ crprise alone had
more than pa. . cost of the Board
for many year : o come, That enter
prise is payin» ont thirty thousand
dollars a month, $360,000 a year
and in a perviod of ten years, at the
preseent ration would pay out in and
around Cordele $3,600,600. If the
Board had done nothing else but
this, it is considered it was well
worth all it cost for some years.

the state are being paved with his
kind of gravel.
Immediately after the northern part
cof the highway in this county is fin
