Rev. Landrum gave the opening
scriptural reading and lead in prayer.
Rev: 1., P; Tyson’s remarks were
beautiful in comfort to the bereaved.
Mr. Tyson dwelt upon the love of
te human heart for life, and touch
ingly pictured the reunion of loved
ones who enter into life' eternal.
The casket was beautiful with
many floral offerings. The remains
were interred at Sunnyside cemetery
in the family enclosure. l

know of the ‘death of Wilder Q.
Greshman, young lawyer who five
years ago was the law partner of
Sewood M. Sr:ith in Cordele.
The following is taken from the
Mooresville, N. C., Enterprise re
garding his death and funeral;
“Wilder Q. Gresham, aged 29
years, died at the home of his pa
rents, C. I. and lone Thompson
Gresham, at the corner of West
Center avenue and Charlotte street,
Saturday morning, August 9, at 7:
40 o’clock. Deceased had been an in
valid for six years, having contract
ed pneumonia while in camp at
‘ Camp Jackson, developing into
' tuberculosis from which hedied. He
spent much time at Asheville, Oteen
and other resorts endeavoring to
s overcome the malady that so per
sistently and gradually sapped his
life’s blood, but to no avail; his sys
tem was so surcharged that his en
| feeble condition was unable to throw
off the ravages that were leading to
the final summons, He was a pa
tient sufferer, always cheerful and
appreciative cf the efforts of loved
‘ones who so ! derly nursed and
lc:n‘ed for hin: 7 o was resigned to
| his fate and j: <d away with the
. smile' of a t “ldier with an as
| surance that it wvere better so.
I “Wilder Q. Gresham was a very
! brilliant, youth, and a splendid man.
|He was a lawyer by profession,
| having graduated from the law de
' partment of the University of Geor
| gia at the age of 22. He went to
' camp at Camp Jackson at the out
break of the war and was soon strick
' en down. After various treatments
' he came to the home of his parents
| in this city several years ago, where
' he remained until the end. He was a
I‘ member of Mocresville Post 66 of
' the American Legion of this city and
ayas held in high esteem by his fel
’ low-soldiers and all with whom he
came 1n contact,
“Funeral cervices were held Sun
day afternoon at the First Baptist
church, conducted by Rev. P. A. Un
derwood, the pastor, the burial ser
vice being in charge of members of
the American Legion, at Willow Val
ley cemetery.
“Mr. and Mrs. Gresham moved to
this city about five years ago. Be
sides his parents, the deceased is
survived by three brothers, B. 8.1
Gresham, of Asheville; Aubrey and
Gordon Gresham, of this city.”
