here today beaten into insensibility
with a hatchet which was found in
the kitchen.
Mrs. Hill, a gaping hole tora in
the back .of her skull, has no crance
to live, physicians said.
Mr. Hill may survive, although he
also had a fractured skull.
Their daughter, Lillian, 9 years old
found her mother lying in:a pool of
blood when she returned home from
school for lunch. .
Mr. Hill was found in the cellar, his
head in a puddle of blood. : X
Julius, 18, a son, said that he sus
pected an individual who had made
threats against his father and mother
but refused to disclose the name ex
cept to police.
Lillian said that she had heard her
parents speak of a man whe had
threatened “to kill the whole family”
if they told about an occurrence of
last summer, when Mr. Hill had been
knocked in the head after a diffi
culty with the man suspected.

n.eeting of the board of county eom
riissionerd of Spalding county | this
rorning, an auditors’ report was sub
mitted showing a deficiency in the
cifice of Tax Collector T. R. Nutt
of $10.468.36. The period covered
ty the audit was from Juiy 1, 1924,
to, December 22, 1125, Sine» De-.
cember 22, the tax collactor bhas
chbeked éut the sum of $1,200, which
will irease the indebtedness that
aount, it was stated by c¢ounty of
ficials. N .
Iremediately after submiszion of
1 the audit a resolution was passed by
1 the board demanding that Mr. Nutt
' pay the amount of the shortage into
' the county treasury at once. The
resolution provided further that un
less the amount of the deficiency is
“paid by the tax collector that the
bonding eompany, surety ont the bond
of Mr. Nutt, immediately pay the
amount of the diserepancy.

Appeals there are not very many qual
ified voters in Crisp county, therefore
I am giving notice to the votets to
come and register. You are required
to come personally to the Tax Col
lector’s Office and there the oath to
be administered by the Tax Collector
or his authorized representétive. You
are also required to sign the said oath
in your own handwriting.
Under the decision the old regis
tration is discarded, therefore if you
desire to vote be sure to come and
fegister. The law requires that you
register six months before the gener
al election. '
