KIWANIS EFFORTS
STATE CLUBS HAVE FUND FOR
AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES
THIS YEAR
ATHENS, Ga., April 14—(&)—Dr
Audrew M. Soule. president of the
State College of Agriculture, an
nounces that the agricultural com
mittee of the Georgia Kiwanis Clubs
has been allotted $750 by the state
crganization for use this year. Dr.
T. J. McArthur of Cordeie, is chair
man of the committee, apd in a let
ter to Dr. McArthur, Dr. Soule ex
presses arpreciation on behalt of the
aoricultural college for the interest
taken in agriculture in Georgia by
Kiwanians.

It is pointed out that 1400 of the
allottment will be used for dairy.

$250 will be used to stimulate in
terests in attendance on the part of
club boys and girle ovor the state
at Camp Wilkins, the unique summer

leoe, while the remaining $lOO will
be used as prizes to the three coun

at the camp this summer.
Since Dr. McArthur has been
chairman of this committee of the
Georgia department of Kiwanis In--
ternational, it is said, the work was
done by the various clubs of Geor

AMENDED TO ELIMINATE
GEORGIA.
WASHINGTON, April Ib—(#P)
A bill to create 12 new federal dsi
trict federal judgships was reportad
today by the house judiciary com
mittee.
The additional judges, would be
distributed as follows:
Three for southern New York and
one each for Northern New York
Eastern Pennzyivania, Maryland,
astern Michigan, South Dakota.
Southern California, aund South
Carolina. _
The measure was amended to
eliminate an addition judee for the
northern Georgia district.

Hotel Closes Doors
CHICAGO, April 14—(#)—The
Winsdor-Clifton Lotel, a hostéhry
which is the past attracted many of
the city’s most famous vizitors and
which now is nearly surrounded by
hotels constructed under madern
ideas, has closed its doors. It had
been in existence 54 years. The old
building, once the cynosure for al!
eyes, is Lo be replaced with a 106-
story office structure.
Some of the guests who left the
hotel had lived there 10 and 20
vears,
