BANKING HOUSE BEGINS
CHARGING INTEREST FROM
APRIL 15,
ATLANTA, Ga., April 14—(P)—
Georgia’s ten thousand Confederate
veterans to whom the state is obli--

due for four years, 1922 to 1925 in

around the first of May, according
¢ officials of the banking institu
tion which discounted the rental
notes of the Western and Atlantic
railroad for this purpose.
The warrants, being ninety six in

State Auditor Sam J. Slate, who sub

rolls, gave it as his estimate that
$2,200,000 would be required. |
And before payment may be mado;
on May 1 or thereabouts, it is point-’

existing between the pension commisg

adjusted. This differnce of opinion

paid veterans under the new law for
the ycars 1922 and 1923, Mr. Slnte
