ANNUAL TRACK MEET
LARGE ' CROWD WITNESSED
- VARIOUS EVENTS AND GOOD
RECORDS MADE. .
_Friday afternoon the Junior High
gchool held its annual track meet on
the O’Neal school grounds. A large
crowd attended and much enthusi--
asm was shown by the different
grades. The pennant was won by 6-1
with 21 points to their credit, 7-1
and 7-3 following with 18 and 17
points respectfully.
The high jump proved to be the
outstanding feature of the contest
when Brooks cleared the bar at 4 ft
" 9 inches. Robert Stafford performed
well in the races.

The Crisp County Board of Ellu--j
cation has decided to try out an

The term was increased last Year
from seven to seven and one-half
months with good results. The cehooH

County School Superintendent J.
W. Bivins stated to the board that
the extra appropriation by the state
would make possible the extended
term and that he felt sure that the
c¢xtra half month could be added
and that the extra salaries and run
ning expenses could be paid prompt
ly as usual, and probably without
borrowing money.
The county superintendent will,
therefore, begin making preparations
for the extra two weeks, in securing
teachers and otherwise, with one
week added to the fall term 1926
and one week added to the spring
term, 1927; and also to continue the
option of even a longer term than
cight months on a fifty-fifty basis.
