old son of Ebbie Lamb shot and kill
ed his 7 year old sister on the Pra
ther Clifton plantation six miles
south of here at 5 o’clock this uftenui
noon, according to the sherift’s of--
fice. '
Ebbie Lamb, the father is in a hos
pital and the mother of the chi]drenl
was with an older boy working in the,
field. The children left in the house
must have been playing with the :shot;
gun, according to Mrs. Lamb’s story
to the sheriff. She said she heard a
shot and ran to the house and x"oundl
the little girl dead. .
Mrs. Lamb said that she unloaded
the gun this morning and placed the'
shells between thafr mattresses of a
bed. She cannot understand how the
boy loaded the gun. ]
