Engaged To David Bruce

Announcement of the engagement of |
his daughter, Miss Aisla Mellon, to'
David K. Este Bruce, son of Sena
tor and Mrs, William Cabell Bruce,
democerat, of Maryland, was made by
Secrctary of the Treasury Mellon to

No announcement as to when the
wedding will take place was made
but it is expected as soon as Mr.
Bruce leaves in July for Rome:

rison Woodruff, about 30 years of
age, son of George Woodruff, of!
Porterdale, holding a regponsible po-'
sition in the twine mill of Bibb Manu
facturing Company, was drowned in
Yellow river, just above the bridge
at Porterdale Thursday night, be--'
tween seven and eight o’clock, while'
trying to rescue his young son who'
