5,000 Pounds Poultry
Are Sold At Athens
ATHENS, Ga., May, '1 (Special)
—Five thousand pounds of poultry
~were sold here last week when the
| cooperative poultry car operated by
' the state department of agriculture
arrived.. The sale was under direction
of County agent L. S. Watson and
H. E. Dunlap, president of the Far
mer’s market. This is the second car-1
lot poultry sale held in Clarke this
year. s 3 ‘
Dozen of carloads of poultry have
| been shipped away from this section
' this year and the supply of chickens
has not been materially . increased.
This section is raising much more
poultry than before the carlot ship
ments began providing a larger mar
ket. Good prices prevail at the car
loadsales.

B. Parker, farm boy who became a
leading jurist and was democratic can
didate for president in 1904 against
Theodore Roosevelt, is to be buricd
tomorrow.
The former chief justice of New
York state court of appeals died of
o ‘heart attact yesterday ofternoon
'whi-le driving through Central rark on
his way with his wife and a nurse to
this country home at Esopus N. Y.
He contracted a cold three days agc
‘and because of his 74 years, his physi
cian ordered him to wait until yester
day before Ileaving for hig country
home where he had planuned a holiday
‘with horseback riding and motor.

Besides his widow, he is survived
by a daughter, Mrs. Charles Mercer
Hall, wife of a Bridgeport, Conn,
clergyman, and two grandebildren,
Mary and Parker Hall. Mrs. Hall is
the dafighter of Judge Parker and his
first wife Mrs, Mary Louise Shoon
maker Parker, whom he married in
1873 and who died in 1917. He marri
ed the present Mrs, Parker three
years ago,
