Henry Ford Bees Work As
Key To Prosperity
e——— .
SUDBURY, Mass., May 11.-()!*)-‘
Hard work and short hours with! “de
cent pay” were cited here today by‘
Henry Ford in an interview with
newspapermen as things that make
for prosperity, . :
The surest way for a man to im
prove his condition, Mr, Ford said,
was for him to do a day’swork,
“Hard work uever killed anybody
A man should like his work, and
should not work long hours, Ho!
should work as few hours as possitle
That gives him a chance to go 'mti
and spend the money he earns and
'coutrlbute to prosperity, Short hours:
and decent pay make for prosperity.
Mr, Ford said the world “always
has been, is, and always will be run
by mediocre men,’’ He sald he never
worried about anything and never had
had a doctor In his life. He gave
some of his rules of health,
I don’t believe in drinking milk
for anybody over eight years old,” he
said. “I don’t believe in quitting work
that’s bad. Hapriness is on thke road,
not in reaching the peak. I am on the
road, and I am happy.”?
Mr, Ford said in answer to further
already done 0, I want you to form
vourselves into committees and visit
these schools, Visit the teachers, See
what kind of schools and what kind
lot teachers they are.”

WARBURG KILLS CANCER
CELLS IN LIVE BODIES
BERLIN, May, 11—Professor Otto
Warburg, the eminent cancer special
ist, has succeeded in killing cancer
cells in living bodies by reducing the
supply of oxygen inhaled by the pa
tient. After studing cancer celse
grown of tissue culture, according to
the system of Professor Carroll of
the Rockefeller Foundation, Profess
or Warburg established the theory
that cancer tumors absorb large
quantities of oxygen.
Rats infected with cancer were
placed in an atmosphere in which the
oxygen was reduced and the cancer
tumors disapeared, Professor War
burg is preparing on a big scale in|
in Vienna hospitals to pprove the ef
